Yeah, that's why he didn't fight any of them. Because they would've been too easy. Not even worth his time. The guy fights in the second golden age of the super flyweight division and doesn't even attempt to fight any of the other top guys, despite the fact that all of the others fought at least one of their counterparts, if not multiple. But he has a prettier record than them so he'll be the one who gets remembered. He's this era's Khaosai Galaxy.
He definitely missed out. But he also had issues with making weight, so I am fine with him moving up. Inoue has had a great run at 118.
I think he'd beat them all too. Rungvisai has the best shot, due to Inoue's somewhat basic defence, and SSR's freakish power. Estrada could out-box Inoue but I think Inoue's 1-2 and body work make for an awesome fight and a win. Chocolatito is obviously the best mentioned P4P, but he's nowhere near as good at 115 IMO. He's looked poor consistently, and looks fleshy. I think Inoue times him. I've only seen an old Nietes, and one Ioka fight, so I shan't comment there. I'm not sure who hits harder between Rungvisai and Inoue, but it's clear there both in the bracket where they have enough to KO anyone. I don't think Inoue would stop Estrada.
Maybe, but Inoue's brother isn't better than him. And man... what an era that was! You have at least 4 candidates for the best super-flyweight ever; Roman, Watanabe, Galaxy and Moon, plus Nana Monserrat, Rojas etc. in there too. Laciar was a monster even after moving up. I think the top level then would clearly beat the top level now.
Who cares like other poster said he had the chance of fighting the likes of Rungvisai, Estrada,Chocolatito and Cuadras and he didnt fought anyone while the others all fought each other. After beating the corpse of Omar Narvaez for a super fly belt he went on a three year victory lap dodging all those guys and fighting sub par opposition instead. Well at least he didnt came out with a Floydesque quote like " they are all beating each other but nobody is beating me". So it could be worse but still ill never forgive him for not fighting any of those guys. Well if he moves up to 160 and beats Canelo ill forgive him
From what I saw in the Donaire fight, technically, even a 115lb Gonzalez would beat Inoue IMO. Inoue was not seasoned enough, and leaving your chin in the air is a recipe for disaster against Chocolatito, even with that great distance management. Choco is 10x better skill-wise than Donaire. I would also pick Rungvisai for similar reasons of seasoning, though he would win due to his freakish strength at the weight. There is a reason Inoue and his team completely skipped over 112lb when Choco was there. Inoue will peak at Bantam anyway imo. He will fully develop and hopefully beat all comers in a very historical division, which is pretty strong right now.
