I know. Shocking isn't it? According to some of his fans on these boards, Khan beats both Whitaker and Mayweather because of "stylistic matchup" problems. It is ****ing insane.

If anything it's the other way round. Khan's weakness is short shots that are well timed. Floyd and Pea were king at this. They'd wear him down and stop him pretty clearly IMO. Khan was very exciting but only because of how flawed he was.

That's a possibility. I liken this fight to Loma vs Linares. Normally with 2 outboxers, the taller, faster one wins, but Loma is a different type of boxer, he stays in range at all times.

I think the difference is that Khan is actually a much better boxer and much faster than Linares. I don't think Linares could have done to Judah, Paulie and Devon what Khan did to him. I also think that Khan would beat Loma, I made a thread about this a year or 2 back. I can't see Loma slipping flurry of punches to counter.

Khan will flurry Pea, miss most of them, hit some, jump back out, Pea will step back in to get in range, Khan repeats the process and jump back out - prime Khan had the stamina to do that. Pea-ODLH was interesting but ODLH is not as fast as Khan and loads up way more than Khan. Khan's pity-patting would actually help in this case as he's just trying to score points.

Pea only beats him if he dodges all those pity pats and outland him on the inside. I haven't seen anyone do that to Khan. Garcia was getting lit up before he equalised it. Canelo was also getting tagged but Khan had to fight very weary, as in stay out of range too so he was missing a lot.

I usually fight as the shorter guy and the problem I have is that I'm more of a boxer rather than an inside fighter, so I find that my worst nightmare are tall skinny guys outboxing me from the outside. I much prefer guys to come to me. I remember sparring a former commonwealth champ who was quite a bit shorter than me and I was surprised at how well I was doing, the main reason was my height advantage and he was an outboxer. Basically he had to reach in so much to get to me, and every time he stepped in, I just stepped away and pumped the jab. It's unreal how much of an advantage it is stylistically.

Same reason why I think Tyson Fury shuts Ali out, even though Ali is in an entirely different class.
