I know we don't like Mayweather, but we need to think purely from a boxing perspective, Mayweather was a master boxer and could adapt to any style, never took a fight lightly, Mayweather would be cautious and jab and whenever Duran threw, Mayweather would be just out of range, when Mayweather threw his punches, he would be in range and land his punches just like he always did, he was a master boxer with perfect footwork and timing, Duran lost to Wilfred Benitez and Kirkland Laing, also Duran always struggled with people who used movement
This. And Duran made a bigger and better version of Floyd Mayweather cry in agony post fight after beating him nearly senseless.
At light weight I think Duran beats Floyd via ud possibly late round ko. 50/50 fight at any other weight imo
Castillo and Maidana basically beat Fraud. Duran would eat him alive. He could eat 3 steaks an hour previous and still destroy him.
I usually pick Mayweather in fantasy fights around his natural weightclass but this is one where I'd give Duran a really good chance. His relentless but intelligent pressure, indomitable will to win, adaptability, heavy hands, and superb timing would all cause Mayweather real problems that I'm not sure he'd be able to overcome. PBF would give him tons to think about of course, but in the end Duran proves a bit too much for him and takes it on points. I've been on a bit of a Duran marathon these past few days and he really was a tremendous little fighter, one of the most well-rounded boxers ever. If he had a weakness it was against guys who flat out got on their bike and forced him to chase them. I'm not convinced Mayweather would fight him like that though, or if he did I'm not sure he'd win the fight. My prediction is that Duran takes a few rounds to figure Mayweather out, maybe gets caught by a few sharp counter shots while attempting to work his way inside to begin mauling Floyd, but by around the fourth or fifth he begins to get PBF's timing down and begins to feint and change angles to get Mayweather to move out of position then closing distance before digging away to his body with savage combination while driving him back to the ropes. Mayweather likely manages to adapt a few times himself, but I think the constant physical and mental pressure of Duran's assault begins to wear on him and he finds himself getting increasingly overwhelmed. I respect Mayweather's quality and defensive prowess (and underrated heart) too much to predict a stoppage loss, but I think Duran does enough to take it on the judges scorecards in a dirty savage contest that somewhat resembles the early Hatton rounds and the 1st Maidana fight, with a bit of Duran savagery all its own.
