Exactly. He hit like a feather duster compared to a young Nigel Benn hitting 160lbers. Benn was no Jean Mateo either.

Who retired with his title, it was not Benn, it was not Hagler, It was Carlos Monzon, Watson who fought and beat Benn would take a beating from Monzon.

Bringing Watson up is totally classless. His career was tragically cut short at 25.

    Scummy

He had over 100 fights and was never stopped and cleaned out the entire devision, how much more chin testing do you need?

Nigel Benn chin testing. 1 of a kind.

99% of them could barely get to him, and 100% of them couldn't truly bang at 160lb.

If Eubank can wear down and stop Benn - so can Monzon.

If he can get through the first few rounds, he can beat him on points if he boxes perfectly. Monzon was no Eubank when it came to speed, reflexes, short punching, power, strength and chin. No disrespect.

One thing for sure is that Benn was the most gifted fighter in the history of boxing. He smoked 20 a day and did ZERO sparring for any fight in his whole career other than Amparo, DeWitt and Barkley.

Sure he did 30 rounds total for some fights, but it wasn't actually full sparring it was just 'finding distance'.

He only had 41 amateur fights. Most of them at a poor level in the army.

He wasn't much better against McClellan than he was on his pro debut, simply less wild mentally; so ducking and weaving more and swinging less.

    Insane.

Lack of respect? Are you for real. He was a master boxer! And you're simply a keyboard warrior.

The lack of respect for the likes of Michael Watson on this thread, a truly great man, is disgusting. Shameful.

You clearly haven't seen much of Monzon. Better puncher; better defensively; truckloads more stamina. Monzon was never stopped so, he's easily a match for Eubank in that department.

Eubank takes a slow drubbing. But, at least he'd be able to say he lasted longer than Benn.

    All that's great. Well done.

I repeat. Monzon was no Eubank in terms of those things, so I doubt he's going to war with and stopping Benn.

    Grow up.

You can only be as good as your own era, and what you actually did in real-life. The rest is not real.

You're disrespecting Carlos himself, he's deceased and it's not fair on him. Saying hideous things like he'd beat phenomenal fighters on the same night without trying, that's disrespecting his deserved legend and embarassing him. How dare you
