He's got a weird record because he's evidently happy to face the very best, but there's a massive drop off from them to who else he's fought. It's a bit like Lewis fighting Holyfield and Tyson, but then not fighting any of Rahman, Tua, Grant, Klitschko and Golota and instead going in with the likes of Herbie Hide and Larry Donald. I mean, Fury's been a world champion for nearly five years; Klitschko and Wilder and great wins, but in a decent era his best win after that is probably Chisora who's really a gatekeeper and loses just about every single time he steps up.
Fury talking about money, while avoiding Whyte or any other decent heavyweight out there hahaha. Come on man, you've got to earn it. Yes he beat Klitschko (while on steroids) and Wilder but besides that, his resume mirrors Wilder's. No one lined up to see him fight Otto Wallin last year. Furys main thing is, he thinks he can speak it into existence like the lineal championship but not everything works like that.
Really? Is that how it worked for Wilder? You know, the whole "speak it, believe it, recieve it" thing? Fury is a fraud and a con man. He actually had a lot of you believing he had mental illness and depression haha. Now all of a sudden he's "cured"?
I believe, the wanting to earn more than Floyd and any other boxer would be about building a legacy, breaking records and having his name etched into stone rather than having the cash in his pocket. I think it's fairly evident by watching his lifestyle that he is happy in is current digs and would be happy with an old Landcruiser with a Hobby caravan on the back for the weekends away to the beach or hills. He very regularly mentions Ali and desperately wants that kind of backstory that would elevate him beyond boxing....I do believe he genuinely has mental issues, but I also think the issues have been used as a tool to 1 brush over drug tests and 2 elevate his profile beyond boxing. Joshua also mentioned wanting to be the first billionaire boxer (on some interview somewhere). Over 3 fights with pushovers in between they may get close or do it? They both have potentially 10 years in the tank and I'm sure there will be some big names being brought up. The one that prevails will have another huge handover fight to whoever the next big star might be. The current Political & Racial climate may also elevate them beyond boxing if they portray the correct message.
There is zero doubt that Fury's supposed mental health issues were a lie and a marketing tactic. He got coked up, lazed about and ran out of money. That's the crack. No diagnosis, no medication, just a magic wand? It is bull****.
I've always found it odd that a guy who comes from a family of criminals, who contradicts himself all the time, talks nonsense and clearly tells lies, is supposedly unable to lie about his mental health. Like that's the one thing that he just cannot be lying about. His story is so convenient as to be laughable. Gets busted for PED's, going to be having a long time off anyway, needs to do something to not be the weirdo religious gypsy cokehead drug cheat that he was, comes up with mental health problems. And because that cannot be questioned, he just gets away with it. Fair play but dear me. Those who believe him need to watch out if they get offered a few magic beans, because I think they're buying.
People who think Fury's lying about his mental health problems are unbelievable. Read this article from the Guardian in 2011. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2011/nov/05/tyson-fury-interview So he planned this lie from 2011...
Basically confirms that John Fury is an absolute cretin in that, not that we didn't already know that. Whenever you read about John Fury everything not quite right about Tyson makes perfect sense. That said, his mental health battle/journey or whatever you want to call it seems to have been a little over egged, I've no doubt at all that he's struggled but I've touched on this numerous times before, this isn't your average bloke helpless working around the clock and losing his mind trying to stay on the straight and narrow, this is a millionaire sportsman who spent nearly 3 years out of work and came back to multi million pound contracts. Full credit to him for doing what he's done but never take advice from the man about how to cope when it all gets too much, different world. If I or probably anyone on here spent 3 years out of work we'd lose everything.
