Not only no but hell no. GGG sadly finished his career completely unproven. Nothing he does can be ranked among the best ever because he was never tested by anyone
Add winky Wright to that list as well great jab one of the ive seen in recent memory. Schooled Tito with a jab alone.
He dominated Canelo twice with his jab, he beat all top contenders in the MW division, not his fault it was weak at the time.
No. Not a reflection on GGG but more a nod to how many great jabs have existed in this amazing sport.
It's a damn fine jab. A lot better than some of the ones listed in this thread, but no, certainly not top 10 all time.
I'll just use MW-SMW range: Winky, William Joppy, Charles Brewer all had equal or better jabs and had the ability to control fights off the jab. Best thing about his jab is that it was a very heavy one, almost like a power hand, Golovkin has a great jab, but is it in the pantheon of the most elite jabs ever? Nah............
Lemiux was his best clean win. I repeat David lemiux is GGGs best uncontroversial win. In 20 defences. That is atrocious
Manufactured. His career was one big showcase fight until they couldn't get away with it anymore Look at his opponents: Nildon Tapia (Who? Super welterweight) Kassim Ouma (2-5 coming into the fight) Lujan Simon (who? 2-3 coming into the fight) Makoto Fuchigami (who? 6 losses, never fought outside of Japan) Grzegorz Proska (never was) Gabriel Rosado (Super Welterweight) Matthew Macklin (1-2 coming into the fight) Marco Antonio Rubio (Shot former Super Welterweight Contender) David Lemieux (his best opponent up until that time, lost to the shot fighter above) Kell Brook (Welterweight) Daniel Jacobs (Close fight could be called for either one) Canelo (Super Welterweight) Vanes Martirosyan (Retired Super welterweight) Canelo (Lost) Stephen Rolls (Who?) Sergiy Derevyanchenko (arguably lost) This is not proof that his jab is top 10 MW, let alone ALL TIME.
So I'm sure your fine with giving Canelo no credit for his 'win' then. If GGG was a 'manufactured showcase', then surely Canelo should get little credit for this win.
GGG beat a roided and bricked up Clenelo twice with his jab. And he did it going forward and going backward.
