I clearly have taken a que from Sainpat, and was going to do a series of threads just the way he has done, only some of the choices will differ, and I will include knockout rounds, but in the vein of the knockout rounds of Foreman-Lyle or Lee-LoCicero. I wanted 2 take ur suggestions b4 I post this first list. Plz avoid the following obvious classic fight openers as they r already on the list: Dempsey-Firpo Patterson-Johansson III Frazier-Quarry I Hagler-Hearns P. S. All suggested rounds must be from filmed fights.
Give me your most obscure picks. Unless I am familiar with your suggestions, I will look up ur suggestions and watch them b4 I decide whether it makes the list or not.
Obviously Hagler v Hearns is probably the best, but Cooper v Moorer was up there a crazy brutal 1st round. This content is protected
Mancini vs Frias Meza vs Garza Williams vs Sosa Chang vs Tokashiki IIRC Aoki vs Harada was something special too.
These have been mentioned in @Saintpat's thread but Mancini-Frias and Meza-Garza are first rounds that were great but didn't quite go the distance. EDIT: @George Crowcroft beat me to it!
Just checked out the Harada fight and WOW! That's the best, most fast-paced fight I've seen in ages. I have gotten the impression you like Williams-Sosa.
That's ok. I'm taking knockout rounds, but just ones like these where there was a lot of action in the round.
I've only watched him a few times, and it was a while back. I really should watch him more often since I liked what I saw.
I doubt anyone is wondering but if anyone is, @William Walker has my full blessing on this undertaking. I had my complete round stipulation for a reason but this is a different approach. I plan on participating and would nominate Mancini-Frias if it wasn’t already nominated.
Thank you 4 ur blessing my friend, and I am definitely putting Mancini-Frias on the list when it comes out.
