beside the point usman branded himself as a BLM supporter and said its time for change in america whereas masvidal is pro america and knows the dangers of socialism/communism. Im gonna enjoy every minute of this fight.
I'm not sure what you guys go on about. Maia's takedowns are not wrestling based, they're advanced BJJ takedowns but a little looser for MMA purposes. The way he chains his single leg together is quite different from how Usman, Colby or Khabib would do it. Even with that, Jorge stuffed most of his takedowns in that fight. Go watch it instead of googling. He was positionally fantastic, which gave way to immediate praise from Maia right after the fight. If anything, Masvidal downfall when it comes to wrestling is size. He's a 165lbs fighter punching above his weight. He's drained at 155, and undersized at 170. He's fighting someone who spent their years wrestling at 185lbs but is too chicken **** to fight there, kinda like Woodley (who I like, but we're being honest). Taking someone down is the easy part. Jorge has been training his whole career for guys to do that. He's training to get back up like a spring. It's exhausting to keep doing that when you can't keep them down, no matter if you're allegedly on EPO or not. Jorge talked about this a year ago. https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/exc...al-kamaru-usman-is-not-going-to-hold-me-down/ Mostly, I believe him. The only thing worrying is that certain circumstances size and strength can always overcome. He's fighting someone who will have 20+lbs of muscle on him in the cage. I have faith in a KO though.
Uzman doesn't even have to take him down, he will wear on him by holding his back. I can see Jorge getting a ko in the 1st two rounds. But anything after round 4 is going to favor Uzman, the type of wrestling Uzman utilizes is meant to tire you not end the match. The weight cut will affect Jorge's stamina, this to me is a coinflip. I dont think either guy winning is a shock .
You made a good point here. Jorge has to avoid being backed up to the cage as well, however he does have great fight ending elbows in the clinch. Even Diaz was able to get him to the cage a bit, although he would circle back to the center.
I have a lot of money riding on Usman,,,, if he wins in any forum latin stands to win a lot of money tonight,,,,
You're assuming that Masvidal was prepared for this fight. He isn't. He went through a massive weight cut and he didn't train for Usman. Usman is the clear favorite in this fight and the longer the fight goes, the more you have to favor the more prepared fighter.
