Which fight were you at? Both? I've seen both matches in full on tape and Santos match with Yuri Foreman. When you lived it you don't need Boxrec, I didn't need to check Boxrec either, I wasn't there like you say you were but I remember what happened in each match from watching both matches.

Both matches were very competitive and entertaining but ended in controversy. However you cannot deny how effective Santos was vs Margarito, he won many rounds and landed some great shots on Margarito, you should know that if you were there.

We were lucky to get out of there alive If they'ed DQ'd Santos which they should have done they'd have been a riot. Sorry but there was no way Santos was ahead

Do yourself a favor If you can wrap your hand instead of the gauze pad place a block of plaster in there then with glove on hit something hard the plaster will break into little pieces so will your knuckles probably. The idea is ludicrous

FFS, look, Mayweather has been and gone, he was (and probably still is) ridiculously talented and ended his career unbeaten. He will be on P4P ATG lists for a long time, I personally don't agree with that but in terms of achievements and the fact he remained unbeaten I understand that.

Anyway, Mayweather, Did he have a dodgy decision here and there? Yeah.

Did he avoid certain fighters at certain times? Yeah.

Is Mayweather different from the majority of fighters? No, absolutely not.

I'm assuming Pacquaio fans are all over this, I'll assume you will agree Pacquaio got questionable decisions.

I swear I've heard Freddie Roach say the old quote "The right fight at the right time",

If given the opportunity most fighters pick "the right time" to fight a rival, it happens all the time.

If Mayweather didn't want to fight Margarito then call it a message from God or just intuition, Mayweather was right not to fight him, how can anybody question that decision.

Margarito was found with loaded gloves and when they were took away from him Sugar Shane smashed him to pieces.

Smashed to pieces by Pacquaio, smashed to pieces by Cotto. He was a very different fighters without those gloves in my opinion and Mayweather would have toyed with that version of Margarito, the clean version.

Okay feather fisted may be a little extreme however there is no denying that he went 4-3 with ZERO ko’s after he was caught cheating. He just couldn’t knock people out without his loaded gloves.

I’m just going by the facts. He was found guilty by the California state athletic commission and suspended for one year. You can read about it here:

Here are some videos summarizing how margacheato and his trainer cheated:

He weighed in at 147 for the Loma fight, where he weighed in heavy to begin with. A skeleton, he was not.

I see it as a 50/50 fight, floyd didn't want to take that risk. If he didn't have the power to keep him off him it would have been ugly for floyd. But if he was able to keep margs honest he could piece him up.

That's a very good point you make and I don't think anyone (except for maybe CJ lol) would disagree with that. I mean given what we know now that Margacheato was one of the most disgraceful cheaters the sport has ever seen, how can you blame Floyd or question the decision to stay clear from this man? Maybe Floyd was a little scared of Margarito but given what we know now about him maybe Floyd had good reason to be scared of a guy that was fighting with loaded bricks in his gloves and inflicted irreversal damage on fighters due to having hand wraps as hard as stone.

We should never forget how disgraceful it was what Antonio did to Cotto with those bricks and it was sweet revenge when Cotto beat him to a pulp in the rematch for being such a dirty cheater. So you're absolutely right that whether or not Floyd was scared of Margarito, given what we know now he had every right to be. Maybe it was Floyd's supreme intuition that sensed that Margarito was a cheater even before anyone knew about the loaded bricks in his gloves. Regardless of whether or not Floyd was scared, I think we can all agree that Floyd made the right decision in avoiding such a proven dirty cheating scumbag like Margacheato.

But CJ I thought that corrupt judging only happens in Vegas. Those matches were in Puerto Rico.

The whole division wanted no part of Margarito.

Mayorga, Spinks, Judah, Baldomir, Mayweather... None of them would fight him from 2003 to 2006.

The Williams beat him, but he made himself the bogey man again in 2008 with victories over Cintron and Cotto.

Margarito was ducked, no doubt. And when you look at the guys who ducked him, he's probably a favourite in every fight.
