I think this will go down something like the Rhodes fight with John being stopped on his feet but maybe a few rounds earlier. I respect John as a fighter but I will be impressed if he wins a round against Alvarez.

I think Ryder's style will suit Canelo to be honest, as John does like to work on the inside and I could see Canelo having success with bodysuits.

He also sets a decent pace but not a relentless pace, which again would suit Canelo as he likes to be able to fight at a slower pace.

I think Ryder can definitely win rounds though. Canelo is extremely overhyped it's unreal! He should have at least 4 losses on his record. No doubt he's a very good fighter but he was losing relatively comfortably to the ghost of Kovalev, his jab and on the scorecards until the KO.

I’m not complaining bout this fight since clearly ryder beat smith so Canelo is fighting a top supermiddle weight.

plus ryder seems like a real decent bloke so happy he’s getting this opportunity.

I like Ryder and hope he's getting retirement money as he's had a very honourable career but this is an awful fight.

Ryder deserves it after that robbery against Smith. Life changing money for him and he’d give a good account of himself. Not like BJS or Smith are huge names that justify being paid several times more...

    Good on Ryder

Absolutely robbed last year by Matchroom against Smith, this is the reward if it goes through

Life changing money and he will give it a good go but sadly i think he gets stopped by the 5th on his feet

And to think he was that close to knocking it all on the head, chuffed for him if he gets the opportunity

Ryder is my sort of fighter. He doesn't whine about not being ready like Billy Joe Sinus or show naff all ambition like Callum Mundane Smith.

A true warrior and I think he'll give ginger nuts a good fight.

Would rather see the Eubank fight let’s be honest that would be a lot more exciting but at least Ryder will have the British public behind him and he deserves his shot too.

Would it though? Ryder is more exciting to watch and a better boxer than Eubank jnr.

What has Eubank Jnr done to deserve this fight? Ryder has shown a lot of character in his career, bounced back, went over to the States and got a great win, robbed in a World Title fight. Jnr is still an enigma.

People would have you believe he destroyed Liam Smith easy. Smith was by no means out classed l in my opinion. Canelo just didn’t respect his power (same as Munguia) but in terms of skill there was no huge gulf. I think Ryder would lose because of body shots but he’d give a good account of himself .

Callum Smith is one of the biggest frauds in boxing in my humble opinion.

We all saw him lose to Ryder, no rematch, he won't entertain it. He isnt really pushing for BJS and doesn't look very keen to fight Canelo whatsoever.

Smith is happy to beat up a 36 year old chinny middleweight Hassan Ndam Njikam.. Sky Sports commentated during that like I was watching a prime Mike Tyson beat the unbeaten Michael Spinks, EMBARRASSING.

Canelo is available and where is Smith? I'll tell you, hiding behind Hearn and keeping his mouth shut, if his profile was any lower right now, the fraud would be Underground.

I'm not impressed with BJS either, he spouts his mouth off on IFL, wants to have large bets on Fury but don't back himself to face Canelo.

Anyway, I just hope Ryder gets paid well if he faces Canelo, I really hope he does, at the very minimum deserves a good payday for being willing to step up, he could wait it out for a Smith rematch but it might be a long wait the way Smith is behaving.

Our (The UK's) two "world champions" seem to have gone missing.. Smith and BJS and I personally find it so embarrassing.

I personally really hope Ryder gets this fight.

He deserves it after being robbed blind by the corrupt judges in the Smith fight.

Ryder won’t be intimidated and he will give it everything. He will be a tougher test than Smith would have been for Canelo.

Presumably BJS turned it down because he would rather fight more Argentinian road sweepers and German bouncers. BJS might as well retire at this point if he can’t be bothered to fight the biggest name in world boxing when it’s offered to him on a plate.

I’m hearing it’s Jason Quigley which is an absolute joke !!! For starters he has been beaten secondly has he even fought anyone close to the top 20?
