Good performance by Felix. He can get in the mix in a loaded 135 pound division

Honestly, that's a pretty good result for Verdejo. Madera didn't look terrible at all when I saw him on Shobox; and figured to at least take Felix some rounds at any rate.

Not anointing Verdejo a future champion, or anything...But that was a much better performance than I expected him to have.

He can get murked by damn near anybody top 15.

Quasi-puncher's chance versus Gamboa, only because the skilled and talented Cuban (sometimes) has that accursedly unreliable chin.

Going vegan doesn't make you a better fighter...ask Ghost Dog Allan Green..

Maybe but I think he's top 10 right now around 9 or so.

I dunno. Verdejo has enough pop to make a fight with Linares and/or Fortuna interesting, since both of their chins are questionable. Don't think he's championship material, but he's a good match for some lower ranked guys at LW.

...alright, to be fair, there are quite a few no-mark randos on those lists. :sisi1 He's probably ranked more or less appropriately where he is (#15, #9, and #13, about the correct range for him overall).

Yeah the Linares match has the same caveats as the Gamboa one, IMO. Both are much better fighters but I can see his quick fat hooks taking either of them out if he catches them sleeping at the wheel.

Fact is, all Verdejo needs is probably one morewin against a mildly ranked guy and he'll get a Loma fight.
Bob will get him ranked high somehow, and he has the PR following to makethe fight pretty big.

He IS talented, and if he is focused can be a decent contender.
Hard to believe hes still only 27

Maybe what TR could do is put Verdejo and Flores Jr in together.

Winner of that gets to have a crack at the crown?

    Flores looks good.

 Or Haye and his 1000 and 1 injuries.

Being a vegan athlete is a bad, bad idea. You are guaranteed to digress.

You say the guy gets murked by anyone in the top 15 and only has a "quasi puncher's chance" against Gamboa.
Then within the next 20 minutes you say you can see his hook taking out Linares or Gamboa.
Either I read that wrong, or you are being really confusing.
For the record I think a Gamboa fight is just about 50/50 at this point.
