Interesting that Ricky hatton is a victim for not being able to elbow and headbutt his way to victory. Which happens to be the only way in hell he would ever have a chance. When they were on the inside he was getting out muscled easily. What a pathetic sore loser

The ref was extremely bias in Floyd#s favor, no doubt about that. But I'm not so sure it changes anything with a more sensible ref in there

Floyd kissed Cortez on the cheek after one fight. And he then Cortez lost control of the situation with the Ortiz KO...

Agree with hatton. The whole point of the fight was to see who would win the battle of the styles. Cortez robbed us of the chance of seeing it. Hatton only had one way to win....getting on the inside. A method cortez stopped at every oppertunity. Hatton tired he then allowed them on the inside.

Unlike tyszu tho....floyd never really fought head on...i think hatton would have always tired anyway. Regardless tho....still think cortez cheated ricky and the fans that night. Its allright saying he would have won anyway...but surely stopping one guy using his only way to win kind of ruins it for everyone. Hatton was up for it that night....he was also a confidence fighter...if he,d have got something going early we,ll never know what could have happened.

Obviously floyds the absolute favourite but ricky had tools to trouble floyd. Foot speed and his relentlessness. Floyd deslt with them but he found it tricky in their at times. Trickier than a lot of guys he fought for me...who often gave up trying to win after a round or two.

I remember watching the Collazo fight vs. Hatton and wondering how he made it out those championship rounds. Other than the first couple of stanzas, Luis was bestowing one hell of a Brooklyn style beatdown on the mad hatter.

Maybe having more of an ability to maul Floyd would have helped his cause more. Still, the stark difference in class was evident. He would have taken an L in the end anyway.

For all those saying Hatton would never have had a chance of winning anyway..

I asked the question a while ago of a Hatton v Maidana outcome and nobody gave Maidana a hope.

We saw the problems Maidana gave Money boy, almost beat him/arguably did, and Hatton was doing reasonably well at first until he bacame more and more frustrated with Cortez.

So why if Hatton beats Maidana easy apparently, does he not have a chance v Mayweather?

The people who are saying Hatton beats Maidana easy don't have a ****ing clue about boxing.
Who has ever beaten that man with ease? There's NO-ONE.

Devon Alexander basically won every round when he beat Maidana @ 147. @ 140, I would pick Hatton over MM. 147, different story.

Bayless was trying to do it for Wilder too against Fury. That has made me reexamines all this stuff.

If Hatton didn't dive in head first when "clinching" the ref wouldn't have had to break it up.

The real travesty was that Hatton was allowed to do this against Kostya Tszyu
