Out of all the fighters there, Ryder is the best technically.

Agree that Eubank will be a lamb to a slaughter. Shame Korobov got injured in there fight, I know it was only the first round but Eubank was stunned and was like a human punchbag for the straight left.

Smith is probably the bigger danger because he has power, however he has zero head movement and goes into ear muff mode. Against a big puncher he's going to come unstuck.

Would personally like to see Ryder get the fight but he doesn't bring a title.

I think its clear from interviews JG isn't happy about the money cut. Realistically though given the current circumstances where is Smith going to earn more, he isn't.

Out of who’s been mentioned and is in contention Eubank has best chance to win imo, although he may get outclassed he can win rounds especially in the 2nd half of the fight. 3/1 (Odds prediction).

Then Smith who can also nick rounds using his size and reach to fight him long. 7/2

Ryder is a longshot his style doesn’t seem to suit. 10/1

Quigley is a rag in comparison seems to have little chance here. 33/1

Quigley has about as much chance as Rocky Fielding did when he fought Canelo during his boys sight seeing trip

Would be lovely if Ryder got the gig, he’s not got what he deserved on the cards against Fielding, Arnfield or Smith. Arguably could have got a draw against BJS. He’s not really had that proper backing through his career until recently and he’s a real threat at 168. He’s really very intelligent in how he transitions from the outside onto the inside, he doesn’t take needless shots. When he’s sat on the chest of his opponent he’s a nightmare, especially being a leftie. Eubank has avoided him for a reason technically, although he also doesn’t fit the shot to pieces mould that Junior prefers in an opponent in recent years.

I think Canelo is in a league of his own in this era. He’d stop Ryder in the mid rounds but at least Ryder would bring it and give it his all.

In regards to BJS, I’ve been one of his biggest defenders on here but no more. The doubters were absolutely right and I was wrong. One of the most talented boxers we’ve had for a long long time. He’s a proper fighter inside the ring but outside it, he’s a massive waste of talent with an appalling attitude.

I was a big fan of Callum Smith as well but really disappointed with the way he and his coach handled the aftermath of the Ryder fight. Should have given him a rematch straight away. Just feels like he’s trying to walk the path of least resistance to a big money fight.

    Very good post.

Ryder has come on in leaps and bounds,BJS talented in ring but with his outside of the ring actions whatever he does from here there will always be the knowledge that he will only have himself to blame through self inflicted attitiude.

Callum Smith has missed a great opportunity after the Groves win in such great style but is happy to go along make the right noises when he steps out from behind his trainer.Like you a fan of his from early in his career but as strange as it may seem despite being a world belt holder he has almost stagnated to me,waiting for things to happen instead of making them.

Smith would have been due to fight around now and these Matchoom fight camps would have provided the perfect opportunity to put the Ryder scandal to bed. I think it's time he ditched Gallagher, the man is utterly deluded and Callum could really benefit from some fresh ideas.

Junior wins not a single round and would be very exposed here

Excellent post. I agree with all of it apart from Ryder getting stopped. I think Ryder has the ability and stamina to take Canelo the full 12 but I can't see him getting anything from the judges.

Your odds predictions are surely way off. No one in their right mind would take 3/1 for eubank to beat Canelo!

Haha was exactly my thinking, but then I convinced myself they were predicted odds for them to get the fight with Canelo, in which case i'll have £10k on each.

You probably aren't that familiar with betting if you think those odds are way off.

I just had a look and Paddy / Betfair have some of the prospective matches priced up.

    Callum Smith 5/2
    Ryder 10/1
    Quigley 16/1

Can't see Eubank priced up by any firm but if Smith is 5/2, then Eubank at 3's give or take a point is about right.

No very familiar with betting, as I said anyone taking 3/1 for eubank to win needs their head looked at.

At 3/1 he only needs to win at least 25% of the time for it to be a good bet. So you will be surprised at the amount of people who would back him at those odds.

On the betting exchanges you would get better odds than the one's quoted.

Put it this way, I'd rather back Eubank at 3's than Ryder at 10's. I'd feel as though he is a live dog whereas Ryder's best outcome is to go the distance and get robbed.

    Why
What has Junior done in his career to be fancied more than someone who should be a World Champion? I'm not arguing or anything, I'm just genuinely intrigued as to why people think he deserves this fight and would give a better performance than Ryder. Junior is terrible at press conferences too, he's embarrassing and then his dad gets involved and takes about 3 minutes to get a sentence out with all the profound pauses. Ryder has earned it, Junior forgot his pen when he had the chance to go in with a World Class fighter and since then he got outclassed by Groves before going back to fighting shot previously decent fighters.

Ryder would be a fine choice he would bring some of the UK fans in on the DAZN venture but wouldn’t do the numbers of a Eubank fight that’s a given.

And the press conference won’t matter with the language barrier, part of the intrigue is Eubank Snr in interviews it’s something you would watch but the buildup to say a Callum Smith fight would be drab even though it’s a unification it’s still a tough sell.
