Yeah definitely. Tyson won the title in 1986. He was a near shot fighter when he fought Lewis in 2002, 16 years after he first won the title. Lewis is older but he was still an amateur when Tyson won the title and didn’t even turn pro until 1989. Tyson beats Lewis if they had fought anytime up to when he went to prison. After his release, probably Lewis. Both at their best, I go for Tyson.
Prime Tyson would have smashed Prime Lewis. He would have been just another bug on Tyson's windshield.
Lewis still wins. It's the old 'small swarmer vs big slugger' problem again. I mean, I wouldn't write Tyson off, because if Rahman and McCall could land their money punch then Tyson could too, but overall, you'd have to pick Lewis on size and style.
In a short fight Tyson would win, If Lewis would be able to survive the early rounds then Lewis could win by points because as the fight goes on Lewis would have the mental advantage... For me personally its 50-50 and hard to predict...
I think if Lewis survives the early rounds, he stops Tyson. Tyson has never lost a decision. He gives up before it gets to that point. Everyone that stopped Tyson was a much lighter hitter than Lewis. I can't envision Tyson being behind in the fight and taking the kind of punishment Lennox can dish out.
Lewis Beats any version of Tyson too big, too hard of a puncher, and too good at controlling distance
At his peak, Tyson wins. At his peak, Lewis wins. Peak for peak, I would just edge it towards Tyson because Lewis did get blitzed TWICE in his prime.
