If you could own any pair of mitts from any fight, which is your fancy? Dempsey s over Willard springs to mind. Or Ali's over liston.. Either fight.
What happens to fight-worn gloves? Are undercard / minor fight gloves used over again? For major fights does the commission keep them? The fighters? Promoters? If they go to the fighters, do fighters put them on display or something? Throw them away? Does the HoF have some? A few years back I went to the Smithsonian and they had a display of supposed Ali fight-worn gloves. Problem was, the gloves he supposedly wore against Foreman were red, not brown.
Whichever gloves are worth the most money. I couldn't give a **** for memorabilia so i'd just sell them to you guys! I don't even understand collecting footage any more given what's on YT and DM and other websites. You could spend your whole life watching boxing eight hours a day and not get through all the ranked fights that are on there I bet.
Few years, there were a few adds in the local paper, selling GENUINE gloves from big fight s, such as Ali v Frazier, Foreman v Ali, Norton v Holmes. They apparently were signed by the fighter s and were going in the region of.. 150 pounds.. Lol. All I could think of was, which absolute Muppets are going to snap up these genuine articles...
Modern: The pair Liston blinded Ali with in the first fight. Classic: Louis' vs Scheling 2 Classical: the ones on Mys of Taras from this statue. https://www.flickr.com/photos/frenchieb/1876230908
I bet you the most expensive pair of gloves out there that you can! Come back to me in 20 years and let me know how you get on.
