As someone who grew up watching both I just have to say how sad this is. Roy has a net worth of forty five million dollars and the punch resistance of a jello pudding pop. He isn’t doing this for the money which leads me to believe he can’t let go (obvious since he carried the corpse of his career around for years) or he wants to help Tyson let go like no one helped him. Tyson on the other hand while only being worth three to five million also doesn’t need the money. Yes it’s a far cry from what he has had but he owns his own homes and can live off his money. Too often this occurs with greats. Ali’s last two losses, Tyson’s last two losses, Jones Jr last seven or so losses etc etc. It’s not exciting so much as it’s like planning a train wreck. Here’s hoping they do it smart.
That´s the magic of a few who are vocal. They make it seem like a lot of people believe it. And this is a boxing forum, so trolling is to be expected as well. Very, very few would put actual money on Tyson if he fought a real pro fight vs someone decent.
Well, it is an exhibition. Tyson vs Sanders was good fun This content is protected I enjoyed De La Hoya vs Shaq as well. They are doing an exhibition. It is not to be taken serious. It´s not actual competition. Just some good sparring. If they want to box on, then this IS the way to do it. Stay safe and know thy place. Mike is bipolar and still somewhat of a loose cannon even now, what happens if he gets a bit overexcited and accidentally connects on Roid's chin with more than 10% power? If an innocuous little love tap from a non-puncher like Glen Johnson can turn a prime Roid's lights out for 10 minutes what do you think one from one of the most destructive and fearsome punchers in boxing history is going to do to this past prime version of Roid?
Wow, never knew Jones was that rich. Mike ain't doing bad either considering he was in a lot of debt in the early 00's. But remember Oddone that this is just an exhibition, they probably won't go all out.
Will be a nice payday for Roy. Hopefully he makes this one last. I also think he should beat Tyson pretty easily at this point if it's at all competitive.
I know but somewhere in my head I imagine a worse case scenario where Tyson falls off the wagon and does ALL the cocaine. Comes into the exhibition the next looking to tear Roy Jones Jr head off screaming about his impregnable defense and whatnot.
I don't really want to see this fight. I'd hate to see Tyson knock out Jones and I'd hate to see Jones knock out Tyson. There's nothing to be gained from it either
