You guy's are insane, this is probably gonna be the biggest exhibition bout in boxing history, Mike Tyson is still the biggest name in combat sports and everyone, old heads and yung folk alike are gonna be talking about and peeping this fight. That being said, I think Roy handily outboxes Tyson. Even though his punch resistance is ****, Mike's punches are so slow and telegraphed that Roy would look like his old self dodging them. He's also been more active of the two, can go 8 rounds easily, even now. It's funny because this fight was supposed to happen back around 03 when Jones was the WBA HW Champ. Since that fight didn't materialize, Jones ruined his legacy by moving back down to LHW and the rest is history.
"Broke" is subjective. I believe Mike still owes millions to various creditors, but his name alone also still generates millions so......... Roy isn't broke, Roy does a lot in Russia (they act like he's still a mega star there, with music as well as boxing), Roy probably really just loves the ring (to his own detriment) At the end of the day, this has exploded among casuals on Twitter, I don't want to see it at all, but I have a feeling this **** is gonna catch fire and sell.........
I doubt either will go all out. After all, its just an exhibition. But if they do and Tyson lands, it's all over.
It's an exhibition They will be tip tapping each other I don't care let them get that $$$ from casuals. Harder for Mike to "exhibit" himself though. Roy will be in "control" whilst Mike plods around after him. I'd laugh my ass off though if Mike steams out in round 1 and goes after Roy trying to blow his head off.
Its probably gonna look like Tyson's exhibition back then against Corey Sanders, except slightly more competitive and Tyson holding up RJJ. This content is protected
Eh, I think it's fun ... this is for true boxing fans; the average Joe probably doesn't know Roy Jones Jr ... Mike is what's selling the fight. Both are veterans, and I think it's safe to say there will be plenty of behind-the-scenes talks about what will and won't be cool. They'll basically do some heavy sparring - their egos won't allow them to pitty pat for eight rounds, nobody wants to look bad - some decent footwork for a pair of old farts through the bout ... they'll touch gloves for a draw at the end, and we'll applaud. If it sells well, they'll plan for Tyson/Holyfield III.
I hope they are both fully juiced up personally. I dont want to see two lame creaky old men in there.
RJJ seems to be in pretty good shape, but one clean punch from Tyson will certainly finish him This content is protected
It's supposed to be an exhibition and given that Tyson appears to be stable now I suspect it will stay one. If it turns into a real fight Jones will mop the floor up with Tyson who was finished a long time ago.
