Lol, might have decent #s depending when it’s scheduled. Peeps is starved for live sports entertainment .

Black vs Mexican always sells, they both have the biggest fan bases in the USA, it’ll do decent numbers. Leo Santa Cruz has always been a name and Davis is supposed to be Floyd’s prodigy.

Not by late October. Most sports will be back by then and on top of that most people still do not have a clue who Gervonta is.

ufc 255 PPV is scheduled the same day but you can bet it’ll be marketed brilliantly.

Out of interest how many buys do people think the Charlo and Davis cards will do?

don’t see how the Charlos make big money from a joint PPV

Sho pulling out these 'mediocre' ppv's when people are doing it tough re: covid? Decent fights but ppv?

PBC PPVs will likely be priced at 80 bucks again.
Sell 200k of those and everyone makes some good money.

Easier said than done. If it does 200k fair enough but I would be shocked without a stacked undercard.

Tank might be drained at 130. He missed weight at 135.

If they are trying to show Tank is a ppv calibur fighter, having him go against the incredibly boring Santa Cruz is not the way to do it

Undercards don´t really sell PPV´s. A strong main card does.
Actually, it might. The PBC FOX PPV´s followed the same blueprint UFC uses. They had basically two cards on the same night. One on "free Tv" and then the PPV.
So a good undercard can attract a lot of viewers and build a strong lead into the PPV. I have no idea if SHO will follow suit. I can´t remember them ever doing quite so.

Both Charlo´s are in fantastic matchups. And so far the rest of the card is quite solid as well:

I meant the remainder of the card. The reason the UFC does so well is they stack the card from top to bottom. With many PBC fight we end up with the like of Figueroa vs Ceja or Charles Martin as the co-main. None of which particularly when the average man on the street still do not know Tank or the Charlos let alone their opponents.

we as boxing fans know these are good fights. However in my opinion unless it’s Tank vs Haney or Charlo vs GGG And built correctly in advance the PPV is always going to struggle. It’s all good talking about how the UFC does it but over the last few years it’s rare a PPV gets anywhere near as much traction as them. If Fury vs Wilder was promoted by UFC it would have done in excess of 1m PPV buys.

PPV has to attract a casual market to succeed, we know they are great fights but how many of your friends know who Daniel Roman is?

My honest opinion is these all do sub 150k buys and are only being made PPV due to PBC having to keep the guys happy with big paydays. Rumours Matchroom offered Charlo $7m do the Andrade fight means he’s going to want good money for Derevenchenko.

Again, I'll buy. I understand at this point in time fighter have to make top buck so ppv revenue is something. No live gate so need to make cash somewhere else. And also, I think Davis vs Santa Cruz is an awesome fight

PPV makes sense for this fight.

True, didn’t know it was scheduled for late October.
but I don’t think this is a legit move to sell PPVs as much as it’s a move to offset the live gate & concessions. Due to everybody’s favorite virus.
