No bad watch tbf. Scott still looking decent for 42...you can tell hes taking it seriously anyway. Not ideal fighting at 42 but what can you do. Opponent wasnt actually that bad....not a good style for scott to fight against but after the early going his class was always gonna be too much. No one wants to see him fight on anymore tbh...but if thats the decision hes made and hes putting everything hes got into it....good luck to him. Hope he finds the redemption hes looking for. Although think its probably time for him to forgive himself for throwing it away. These guys seem to think they need to get another world title to get redemption of sorts when the truth is he probably just needs to look back on his achievements and give himself a break. Ashame how it ended up....and ashame for the people hes hurt along the way. But sadly its done now...just need to use the experience to try to become a better person. Think tying it into achieving again at boxing at 42,s always gonna end one way. But good luck to the man...hope he manages to turn it around.
Paul Peers was 7-4-0, Boxrec is so inaccurate it's laughable - I wish Fight Fax had a public site as then everyone would see just how bad Boxrec is
Quite simply Boxrec act in a protectionist way for the BBBofC, what people don't realise is that Fight Fax is the official record keeper for the sport not boxrec, even though they state it - Boxrec refuse to update British & Irish Boxing Authority, Malta Boxing Commission and the German BDF because each sanction events in the UK - The UK Government are investigating so hopefully will be resolved soon
Strange to see Harrison fighting again. I think the illustrates what a high level the true world class fighters are working at. Peers looked to have nice fast hands and was moving well and landing good shots and Scott just shugged em off. Once Peers had slowed down he was landing good shots himself and that was that. His loss to Liam Walsh feels like a lifetime ago - he really needs to call it a day as a pro and carry on painting
Who was the referee on Saturday Luca? How come Lee Murtagh didn't get the job? (thought he'd be straight onto such a high profile event)
Yeah he did. These other organisations aren’t really pro boxing whether their organisers like it or not, the standards are light years apart. The fella is 0-2 in proper boxing hence the result
i would disagree that its not professional but agree standard light years of bbboc fights. Bit like EPL to Scottish league, but nothing should stop organisations rivalling bbbofc monopoly (as long as fighters safety is looked after). In time they may become competetive. One thing for sure bbbofc treated Scott Harrison terrible.
Proper boxing as you call it is full off fighters at all levels, in the past there has been fighters with fake records and corruption has been rife, even Dillian Whyte fought a Georgian fighter with a fake record who was after a payday, and the fans at the time thought they were watching proper boxing.
That fella Scott boxed was 0-2 (both kos) in BBofC or 7-2 in this BIBA. You can’t tell me that he was fit to box a former world champion, regardless of age. His technique was poor and in reality the only thing that got him out of the first was Scott’s age and ring rust. It’s the same organisation that has sanctioned fights like Williams / Mccalister.
The guy might have improved a bit but with Harrisom being the age is and not fighting at world level for 15 years i didnt mind match up. Agree McAlister Williams match up was embarrassing.
