Tyson has not been in a ring in 15 years and not had a meaningful win in near 20, nobody knows how he will react but I guess that's what makes it intriguing. If there was no scripting element (they need to make it entertaining if they want to be invited back) then I would be betting on Roy, especially as the underdog. One things for sure is that if it is scripted Mike is worth a whole lot more than Roy would be for future appointments.
David’s lucky to be walking never mind fighting again. He lost half an inch in height after his spinal surgery. Had reconstructive shoulder surgery twice, where he was warned about permanent damage should he continue. After his Achilles injury, he was again warned he may not walk again or not walk properly should he go through with a second fight. A reporter also claims to interviewing David around 2/3 months after the second Bellew fight, and David was struggling just walking around his home. Refused to blame injury despite it being plainly obvious. PPV Mughts were well and truly fleeced on that one.
Long gone against younger active fighters. You'll probably be surprised how well his movement looks against a man that hasn't been active in 15+ years.
I honestly dont think i will, although if proven wrong ill hold my hands up I genuinely think Tyson knocks him out at some stage ,more likely in the first 3 rounds I dont think i have ever seen a fighters punch resistance drop in the manner that Jones did/has
Hear what your saying But here's a question, whats the punch resistance going to be like for the guy that hasn't been hit on the button for so long like Tyson? I remember Sugar Ray Leonard saying he trained behind closed doors for like a year in preparation for Hagler with one of the reasons being that he had to get conditioned to getting hit again. Anyway, we're talking like there going to go balls deep and try to tear each others heads off when in reality it's a move around lol
Fair point regarding Tyson's punch resistance That is going to be very dependant on Roy having any power to trouble a natural HW I honestly think Tyson's going to try and rip his head off lol,he will want to keep them pay days coming and himself relevant and a sparring session will shatter the illusion some still have of him and kill off any momentum he has built recently in the public paying eyes
Sparring gloves? Tyson hits so hard even now, he could finish Roy with pillows on. That’s if he can land of course.
Struggling to find anyone being able to define what an exhibition is other than two multimillionaires taking the **** out of people for PPV money.
If they wear 12oz gloves and no headgear I'll happily tune in to see what's what. If they've headgear on and big gloves I've no interest. Most boxing fans want to see Tyson roll back the years and entertain the fans in spells but surely at his age and after all the abuse his body has taken over the years, that's not going to happen. In saying that, surely one good shot sparks Roy out cold. That's what makes it a little intriguing, even if we're kidding ourselves which we probably are.
Will admit when I first heard about this I was very briefly taken in by the nostalgia, hype and excitement but then came to my senses and remembered that both guys are fossils and the 'fight' will go one of two ways. 1. Fight is pure WWE style scripted nonsense, arm punches and lots of clinching so Mike can recuperate every 20 seconds or so 2. Tyson flattens Roy in the 1st round But hey the PPV mugs will be happy and that's all that matters. Update : Just read that there will be no judges for this, confirmation it's fixed.
