Vergil clear UD. Vergil Ortiz, I would wager, is easily gonna be the face of boxing once he wins a title. Kid is incredible, offensive tour de force.

Danny can counter like a mofo, though. And Thurman said his power is big.

It might be a little early to fight Garcia right now. In a few fights I favor Ortiz.

I mean, how many fights does he need? He just convincingly beat Samuel Vargas, who's about as good a top-level 'gatekeeper' there is. Who else is he going to fight that will 'get him ready' for a Danny Garcia? Jessie Vargas? Ugas?

danny thrives as a counter puncher and ortiz will come at him all night

ortiz is pretty crafty and garcia is older now and i dont think he has ever been as effective at 147 as he was at 140

i think danny can beat this kid but its a tough call, danny was level with shawn porter who is a very aggressive in your face fighter but ortiz might be a harder puncher than porter

Too soon for Ortiz. Garcia experience and power is enough to pop any prospect hype bubble.

He only have 16 fights and never been past the 7th round, a few more like Vargas would be good before Garcia since he is battle proven. The only reason I want Ortiz to have more experience before fighting Garcia is because I can’t stand Garcia and would hate to see Ortiz lose because of inexperience, especially since Ortiz is a likable guy.

Like most of Danny’s decision wins.

Danny has a good chin, good stamina, excellent experience . Virgil Ortiz is unproven over 12 rounds and was starting to look a little uncomfortable in between rounds six and seven. He came out hard in round seven, but how much would he have left after his sustained onslaught? The shots Vergil was throwing might be easily avoided by Danny. Vergil has great potential and is a great prospect, but I'm not convinced he could defeat someone as experienced as Danny at this stage of his career. We also don't know how well Ortiz can take a punch. If Ortiz could defeat Danny then he is ready to take on the top Dogs. At this stage I would favor Danny Garcia.
