not like khan and some are able to think for them selves adapt lol you put khan and ring iq together lol just think about that for a moment lol
Yeah and I stand by what I said. It doesn't matter how good the corner is if the fighter can't follow the instructions. He followed them and performed well in those fights. Good=/=great. Never said he was some sort of genius technician. I said he displayed "good" ring IQ against Judah and Alexander. He completely took them apart and shut down their offense. Khan is very good at dealing with South paws.
iq aint a coaches gameplan two different things khan and iq simply dont go together you saying otherwise is to funny
I don't think you can ignore Khans lack of ringcraft and reduce his flaws to just a dodgy chin. I think his ring IQ (and I believe many pros would agree with this) is not the best - perhaps even downright poor at times. He gets cracked, comes back flinging wildly at super speed. More than once this tendency has caused him to get into a tear up and wake up on his back. I hate people that call sportmen "crap" unless they are the very best on planet earth. I used to dislike it when people (here in the UK) called Tim Henman "crap" because he was only in the top ten in the world at playing tennis. It's obviously thick. So, yes, Amir is brilliant at fighting and boxing and one of the best in the world in that sense. But comparing him to the skillset of the very best out there? Durability and ring IQ are miles off of where they need to be. ATG speed.
What's funny is you not knowing the difference between "to" and "too" and thinking Khan had bad ring IQ because he had to listen to his corner's advice. Even Mayweather had things repeated to him. You have to have decent ring IQ to follow solid advice and implement a good game plan. The way he took apart Alexander was a fine display of the sweet science.
yeah ok you want the video where hunter says he needs educating on ring iq and defence ha ha ha taking formal instructions now eqautes to ring iq gtfoh
Show me the post where I said simply taking instructions means high ring IQ? I said you would need to have decent ring IQ to implement and carry out the game plan Khan used against Devon. Not simply following instructions in general. For someone obsessed with arguing over ring IQ you seem to have horrible reading comprehension and grammar. Irony.
Not all the time. He looked poor against Garcia and Algieri but he showed decent and good ring IQ dismantling Judah and Devon. See I can do these things called being objective, seeing things from more than 1 angle, and giving credit where credit is due. Maidana for example, is normally a very sloppy slugger but showed good boxing ability in his fights with Mayweather. He had a great jab, cut off the ring well, and mixed up his attack going high and low. I don't look at how Maidana is 80% of the time and pretend like I don't see those things when he learns to make adjustments and fight smarter. The fact you refuse to give Khan any sort of credit tells me how biased you are. No one ever made Devon look that bad.
zab was low blow genuine unlike khans thigh blow lol devon was hooked on codine and got battered by a journeyman on his next outing khans career is smoke and mirrors no british title no wbc title not a two weight world champ with everything at his disposal i ask you this with whst he had at his disposal as he over achived under or just a realitvly average fighter with exceptional hand speed garcia achieved more than khan and he didnt have the backing khan had
In terms of physical skills he was tremendous, speed, agility, etc. But like some who are naturally very gifted physically he cut corners in other aspects of his game. In terms of technique, ring craft and ring intelligence he was very average. He showed some improvements under Hunter early on when he was training full time, even when he didn't have a fight planned. But he quickly reverted to old ways and abandoned what he had learned and reverted to his old style and made the same old mistakes and only training when in camp. When I think of Khan, other than the glass chin, I think of wasted potential.
