As DAZN resumes its UK launch can it avoid Eleven Sports’ mistakes?

There would be some additional content right under their noses. Maybe Eddie and Barry will offer them a huge discount on the rest of the content they supply Sky with or on the other hand it wouldn't hurt Matchroom to start a bidding war between DAZN UK and Sky for their Darts rights would it ?

I actually think he will. It boosts the profile of a matchroom fighter 10 fold.

A fighter that without a Saunders fight domestically and live gates isn’t going to make much headway for Sky at this moment in time.

This DAZN launch reminds me of the WWE Network launch when Sky weren’t happy with the situation but had to go along with it in the short term but eventually ended up dropping the WWE entirely.

Sky may have to look at rights contracts in the short term and boxing could be one that ultimately gets cut.

Id love it if Sky ditched boxing and opened it up to a new service giving us fights every weekend.

Think you will find Sky done their nuts losing WWE rights when they were outbid by BT.

WWE is one of the biggest PPV providers if not the biggest in the UK. Also offered weekly content.

I do think Sky May be better off cutting back on boxing slightly and offering top quality shows in conjunction with Matchroom. Maybe try and tie down the likes of Whyte to an exclusive UK contract.

Sky would be better off long-term opening their boxing offering to any promoter submitting decent cards for approval.

The substandard stale Matchroom tripe is awful and time for change.

It was a great move by Sky. BT have massively overspent, with recent WWE shows getting as few as 6,000 viewers combining live and 7 days of PVR viewing. No one buys their PPVs for £20 any more as you can get them included in the WWE network for a tenner a month.

Will never happen whilst the other promoters do not hold a valid bargaining tool. Besides Fury what do any of the other promoters offer?

If Sky did that all that Matchroom would have to do is walk AJ, Whyte and the rest straight over to DAZN.

Watch Fat Mick's next card with a much lower budget and compare to a Matchroom Card on Sly Sports.

A run to the top of a hill begins at the bottom.

Being on PPV, a move to DAZN would make no difference to the PPV Mugths and 99% of the UK population.
