The American heavyweights of today just arent good as they use to be . ruiz even though american represents mexico . Wilder just got beat ,sure he has a chance in rematch ,but wilder is so limited . Miller just got popped for PEDS again!!! With all this id say hunter is the best American heavy weight we got right now. Hes so much better than wilder, miller and ruiz He can box , hes in better shape , hes got speed and power. All the flaws miller and wilder have. Hunter does not have . How do you all see him doing in the division? Can he bang with fury or AJ
America's time is past for the moment. It is hard to figure out exactly why, as he have literally millions of good failed NFL and NBA wannabees, and good athletes have certainly gotten good starting late in the past. But all said and done, it is a good thing. It is an international sport again, like it was in the 30's, and that makes it better for all of us.
Mendoza here, There might be a real contender amongst the USA pretenders and hype. His name is Jared Anderson. Only 20, his raw tools to use someone people are familiar with remind me a bit of Riddick Bowe. His hand speed is average, and he will need to tighten up the defense ( Like Bowe ) , but the power, combinations and ability to in fight or outfight, suggest he's got a real future. Anderson can quality as a super heavyweight with skills. He's 6'4" tall, 240 pounds with a 78 1/2 reach. Wait until he's 23, he'll be much stronger. At 5-0 with 5 Ko's, he the first USA prospect I might believe in...since the 1990's. I'm not saying he'll be as good as Bowe, but maybe close to it, in other words way better than Mike Hunter This content is protected This content is protected
Obsessing over fighters’ nationalities is plain dumb. Despite all the mumbo jumbo in the casual sports media, boxing is very much alive and there will always be a next one. Next Eastern European hope(Hrgovic, Makhmudov), next British hope(Dubois), and as mentioned above, next American hope in Jared Anderson.
Jabs with conviction but he'll have to watch that dropping the left after he throws it. If Satterfield had half a clue he could have banged him right on the chin at least twice. Early days but he has some good fundamentals. Good feet.
He seems to hang at his opponents range after he throws. He is real open to counter shots and can be caught clean as well.
Yeah. Stays mid range so wide open to a counter but still, some good stuff to work with if the lad wants to improve.
Hearn and AJ should have taken the fight when Miller was busted They didn't and that tells me they thought it was too much of a risk
Hunter was arguably beat by an old and faded Povetkin... He loses to all of the top level heavies - Wilder included
What about Stephan Shaw? https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/672064 He was featured in an article a few weeks back.
