    What height was he?

    went down a bit of a rabbit hole, loads saying he was only 5’9, though officially 5’11/11.5

    Well i know its not the greatest indicator but Ali was 6,3 officially, if you take that as fact its very hard to believe Frazier was 5,9 as when they box or stand near each other it doesnt appear Frazier is freakishly shorter. Worth noting that JF would box out of a crouch type stance so that could be an avenue for these rumours ?

    One of the best ever American heavyweights, yet strangely doesn’t seem to get the same amount of kudos as Ali, Tyson etc

    Very strong argument that he has the single greatest heavyweight win on his resume as well.

    Not really. Equally there is a strong argument for saying Ali was robbed in that fight.

    How not really?

    Frazier won the first fight and put Ali on his arse along the way, no "strong" argument there.

    Boxing heights are really bizarre, Boxrec really unreliable. You need to stand next to them to have a genuine indicator of their true height.

    You get conspiracy theories about boxers wearing platforms or shoe lifts at face-offs but then in the ring there's still not much difference.

    completely agree -- I am a huge fan and he does not get the credit he deserves! what a style -- him v Tyson in their primes would have been amazing

    Joe Frazier is my no1 heavy ever, loved his attitude and style, but he ain’t getting out the first 2 rounds against the fastest starter ever in Tyson. Them first 2 rounds joe takes to warm up before he starts, Tyson would be all wrong for him imo. Plus Tyson needs a beating to be stopped, joe doesn’t get the chance to smoke imo
