just a reminder...if you ask questions it is always more interesting when there is a poll attached. Thanks.
Unsubstantiated but credible rumors have it that they enlisted Johnny Ruiz to help develop this new technique...to put a unique Puerto Rican sauce in this delicious new Ukrainian octopus ceviche, if you will.
No such thing as an unbiased person.. everyone's got prejudices.. the Ali clinching topic has been discussed on many occasions. Clinching seems to be allowed in boxing so as long as it's not very excessive, In Ali's case it was mostly holding behind the head and puling it down which is an intentional, illegal move known for draining your opponent of energy. Ali was NOT a clean fighter. He clinched & did it so many times on Frazier that Joes trainer thought the ref was crooked about 130 times near enough .. he also did it with Norton & many others.. the fight is there for all to see. That's just FACT! But if I've upset your old timer sensibilities I do apologise precious. But regardless, that fight was a war & a viewed as a classic so it gets a pass somewhat, whereas Wlad dominated in a boring one so the clinching gets more heat. So ye, clinch fests & dirty tactics are part & parcel unfortunately .. they didn't start with Wlad. Many greats employee these tactics & much MORE.. Ali, Bhop, Ward.. I suspect you're all over them tho
Lol I'm not all over anyone about anything. I've simply never once heard anyone complain about Ali Frazier being too dirty or complained about it. I believe you that it's been discussed here as every topic has been nitpicked to death. It's laughable that you are trying to compare klinchko who is commonly refered to as the most boring champion ever to Ali commonly considered the most compelling. Really comes off like an objectionable opinion
Holding is something no one ever gets a point deduction for and it should be stoped way more it's against the rules way to many cheaters
If Wladimir Klitschko should've been disqualified, then so should have Lennox Lewis against Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield against Mike Tyson, Deontay Wilder against many opponents he knocked out illegally, Tyson Fury against Steve Cunningham, Anthony Joshua against Wladimir Klitschko for his holding and hitting, Andre Ward against Sergey Kovalev for his low-blows and etc. We have to be fair and objective folks. Not one rule for one individual and another rule for others. All those guys, are equally guilty of breaking the rules in those fights I've mentioned. And regardless, Wladimir Klitschko never once continued breaking any rule after the referee warned him of being disqualified if he continued to break a rule. Wlad always followed the referee's commands, fair and square. So even if the referee warned Wlad to not clinch early on, he'd most likely stop doing it. So let's assume the referee did warn Wladimir Klitschko that he'd get disqualified if he continued clinching in as early as the third round, it would've only worked against Povetkin, because this clip here: https://s7.gifyu.com/images/output_y0qfEY.gif Shows just how outmatched and hopeless Povetkin was in this fight, and I say that as a huge Povetkin fan. The truth is, Wlad's excessive clinching only helped Povetkin more than it harmed him. Considering if Wlad could do what he did above that effortlessly, a serious Wlad actually trying to knock Povetkin out instead of clinching him, would've lead to Povetkin being carried out in a stretcher out of moscow, which would have been even more embarrassing for Povetkin than it is to lose a lopsided decision against a Ukrainian in Moscow. Povetkin had no chance from the start and that was as clear as day! Anybody thinking Wlad not excessively clinching would've benefited Povetkin, is absolutely delusional to say the least. In my opinion, I feel Wlad was payed to not embarrass Povetkin by inflicting a violent knockout loss as he did to Pulev. Instead, he was playing it nice and took it easy on the poor Russian.
Frankly Wlad should have been ashamed of that performance. Certainly should have had points deducted but ref was hopeless.
