ESPN was hyping him? Who Kellerman? Boy he jumped off the Wilder bandwagon fast! If Ward concurs, then it will mean something as Andre really knows boxing. Let me know who said what.

I think it's too early to judge if Anderson will make the top ten, as he's so young and hasn't fought anyone decent in the pro's yet. I will say I think he has the power and skills, at least on offense to be a top 10 heavyweight in a few years. He ws never stopped as an amateur, so his chin could be good.

I would say at age 20, he's way better than Wilder.

What bothers me out about current USA heavies is not one of them is well rounded, or rather some are too well rounded. Ruiz jr is fat as a rat. A waste of good ability.

Wilder can hit a ton, but has a weak chin.

Then you have a guy like Hunter who can box but he's small and can't punch hard.

    WTF...

Here's the USA 10 best at super heavyweight.

    201+ lbs.

    1. Richard Torrez Jr., CA
    2. Antonio Mireles, IA
    3. Jeremiah Milton, OH
    4. Luis Alvarado, WI
    5. Kenyon Walker, TX
    6. Deandre Salvage, NV
    6. Dominic Okopie, TX
    8. Pryce Taylor, NY
    9. Leonid Grachev, CO
    9. Dacarree Scott, GA

Tores is solid and can out box those naked below him. He's capable of wining an intention match in the Olympics, however he was destroyed by Jalolov. Torrez is not a real pro prospect. How it come to this?

I like Hunter. He's a well rounded skilled boxer. Also seems a decent guy and give it his all. But i just don't think he's big or powerful enough to beat the top boys in the division - Fury, Joshua or even Windmill.

America's last hope? No. Their current best hope? Yes, absolutely.

He's game, tough and well-skilled. He's a little undersized but not a midget by any means. He isn't the world's biggest puncher but he can hurt guys as well. Right now I'd back him against any other US heavy with the exception of Ruiz (who is hot and cold). He beats Wilder and after that there really isn't anyone worth talking about.

He's in a similar place to Bryant Jennings a few years ago. I hope his career pans out a bit better than Jennings's.

Yeah a solid base to work off. Gotta up his punch output slightly. Would like to see more combinations instead of single shots as well.

Tyson Fury gains American citizenship and bases himself out of Las Vegas for 4 months of the year for his training camps

You can get some claim to him then.

No, Barack Obama was America's last hope. He even wrote a book about the audacity of his hopefulness.
Alas, even he could not save America. If only he'd had a Putin length term, imagine what he could have done with the place!

In America why would a 6'6+ natural athlete get his brain scrambled boxing when he could be a basketball player? As a Brit I know that if we want boxing to thrive, American boxing needs to thrive especially in the glamour division.

Arum's heavyweight looks like the goods, and is still really young.

    Because...

    A) There are only so many NBA spots to go around. We do have a population of 320 million people, so we produce a lot of 200+ pound athletes.

    B) Different skills set. Boxing is not about your speed on the flat, but your quickness. It isn't about your lifting strength, but you punching power. It isn't about how high your legs can jump, but can they carry you 12. The first thing you have to have is a good chin.

    C) Some people like to fight.

The disappearance of boxing corresponds to the rise of MMA, so its not like there are not a lot of people in this country who want to fight. It is simply about its disappearance from schools and the soccer-momming of our country.

On point B) I will say that heavyweights are the least skilled boxers, a lot of their success is based on their dimensions. Of course the best HW boxers are very talented but you can be a well regarded HW just based on size.

Most of americans lack the three traits to become a champion in boxing: discipline, courage and narcissism. There is not one great usa heavyweight boxer active.
