Technically a KO, but not really a KO, if you catch my drift.

Congratulations Richard M. You've got me scratching my head again here ! I can see a real case for Quarry here. Not all of Jerry's fights were desperate shoot outs a la Joe Frazier. Shame you didn't make it the 1972 version.
Quarry was a highly skilled counter puncher which was a style Liston tended to struggle with. A common opponent is Eddie Machen who made Liston looked plodding and pretty crude and Sonny probably got the nod in that fight on aggression and the fact that, when he did land, he carried the heavier punch. Eddie beat Quarry but Jerry was still very green at the time.
If you watch the Quarry v Thad Spencer fight, Jerry used a fast, hard lead right hand to beat Spencer to the punch on his jab. If you could take Liston's jab away he was bang ordinary. Liston also had a terrible habit of lunging in with his right leaving him off balance and a sitting duck for a left hook counter. This would be a grave mistake against Quarry.
Of course Liston will land at times but Quarry's chin was easily able to absorb single shots from any Heavyweight.
This has all the ingredients of a close, thrilling fight but if it all comes together for Jerry on the night, I take him to win on points.

Foreman is on record saying that he was scared like hell of Frazier and Norton too but he only fought them because he wanted the title and this one was the only way.... Foreman killed them.. So your ridiculous theory " Quarry would beat Foreman because Foreman never fought him" os laughable.

Foreman destroyed Frazier and Norton does it mean that he wozld destroy Ali because those two beat Ali?
What about Quarry beating Lyle easier than Foreman?
What about Quarry beat Shavers who could stopp Frazier?

Tyson, Holmes, Spinks,Tucker, Witherspoon were the best of the 80's. They would beat up the guys you mentioned.
Ali, old Liston and Patterson were the best from the 60's. They would also come out on top of the guys you mentioned.

A same "Rusty" Foremam who knocked Norton out and same Rusty Foreman who after Lyle fighr knocked Frazier and Scott LeDoux????
Foreman won by KO but was also kayoed himself and Quarry wasn't!
Quarry beat Lyle who was in his prime came from wins against Mathis,Ramos,O'Halloran,Scrap Johnson,Peralta...he was not green! He was in his prime while against Foreman he was 35 years old and past his best!Yes he started late but his prime was to Ali fight after that he started to decline!
Quarry fought prime Lyle,Foreman fought 35 years old Lyle!
Quarry beat him easier because he was not even staggered and make him look stupid while Foreman trade life and death against Lyle!
I would quote you because you are very dumb and stupid!
Btw, Ernie was harder puncher than Foreman and Bonavena and could do the same thing with Frazier bobing and weaving while Ernie caught him with a left, holding his head and uppercuted him which would dropped Frazier few times!
Joe flatly told Earnie Shavers “hell No Earnie” when Shavers asked him about a match, because the risk was not worth what they were offering to pay him.
Earnie Shavers did not appear in the rankings until 1973, and while he asked for a fight with Joe, the money offered was a joke. Joe flatly said in his autobiography “Smokin’ Joe” that he was not making discretionary defenses against dangerous opponents for less than what the fight was worth.

    Holmes?
38 years old grandpa who came after 2 years layoff?
    Spinks-washed scared LHW?
Tucker and Spoon?Coke addicts and average contenders at best?
All guys whom I mentionef would beat those bums!
Ali was green in 60s!Liston was old and Patterson was past his best!Late 60s where things started to be good!
Ali would come out on a top but Old Liston and Patterson would get mauled by Langford,Dempsey and Greb!
