Still enjoying the millions he made from the AJ bouts. I have to say i think writing Ruiz off might be premature, he messed up bigtime with his weight gain between AJ bouts, however he still had a decent engine on him even in the AJ 2 fight. He is never going to be svelte, chiselled or body beautiful, however if he has a modicum of fight fitness which i think he will regain ok, then he will make any fighter work hard for the win. He is not the type to take a backward step in a bout, so any opponent will not be able to coast and take a breather in the bout If the supposed Areola fight happens that will be his 2020 fight total.
Ortiz/Helenius is a good fight. Ortiz will probably outbox and stop Helenius in the mid rounds but Helenius' power is definitely an x factor.
320+ lbs.. His fight with Chris Arreola will go down in history as the heaviest matchup of all time..
I am so tempted to make a fat joke, but instead, since I support his return to form (ooooo, I want to say something) I will just say that I don't think we are going to see him fight this year. Combination of Covid and a lot of work to do.
