I think we’ve got a brilliant domestic scene at this weight, no world level fighters but still a load of fun match ups. Although his last 2 fights have been at middle, I’m gonna assume Liam can still boil down to the 154 mark. Not sure where Kell Brook is at but I’ll chuck him in at 154 as well. I guess you could still chuck in Rose even though he’s pretty much retired...you’ve got Sheeraz coming through, Kieran Smith, Conway and the more experienced ones like Welborn, Eggington and Metcalf.

    Who’s your top 10 (or 5 if you can’t be a***d).

    1) L Smith
    2) Brook
    3) Fitzgerald
    4) Fowler
    5) Cheeseman
    6) Conway
    7) Eggington
    8) Metcalf
    9) Sheeraz
    10) Welborn

Probably forgot a few obvious ones so if I have, put me straight, it’s just a bit of mess about debate.

There's Steven Donnelly from Northern Ireland too. He's a good fighter

Liam smith and Kell Brook are the standouts, and I'd say Scott Fitzgerald has the most potential if he can get his act together.

    1) L Smith
    2) Brook
    3) Fitzgerald
    4) Cheeseman
    5) Fowler

The top 3 are set in stone (for now) whilst I have swapped 4 and 5 around purely based upon the levels fought at. Last night probably contributed to this change in 4 and 5. Fitz and Cheese have both held the British Title, something Fowler has to aspire towards.

Healthy domestic division though with many entertaining genuine fights to be made which is all the fans really want.

It’s a boss division domestically. It’s a shame Metcalf isn’t with matchroom. He could get added to the current fights going on.

At this point both Smith and Brook are a level or two above the rest. I would say and this wont be popular on here that Fowler is likely to be in front of Fitzgerald now. I had Fitz winning fight, by 1 round, but with his troubles since and the 75% CBD salesman and 25% boxer still looking after himself, i would think he would have edge currently. As you mentioned mate loads of good match ups there.

I was really impressed by Eggington last night, it was a really close fight. I missed the last 2 rounds as my phone died (was watching on my phone) but I had the fight more or less even going into round 11. He’s right in the mix.

I think Fitzgerald has the most potential but he seems determined to self destruct.

Not been impressed at all by Fowler as a pro yet. But him moving to Shane Mcguigan I expect to see him improve, Mcguigan is the best trainer in the country imo.

Hearn needs to focus on this mini domestic division for the next 18 months worth of Saturday night fight night type shows,if not longer

Its a really good one with a lot of good solid fights in there and even the ones that have already occurred could give us cracking rematches

    For me its
    1.Brook
    2.Smith
3 Cheeseman (i will always maintain he beat Fitz)
    4. Fitz
    5. Fowler

Also the 3 to 5 spots imo are so interchangeable its unreal, making the division really interesting

Sorry Twenty you gave me the option to do only 5 so i am taking it lol)

Ah mate, watch round 12, it was brilliant. Like Ritson v RDJ all over again.

Sure could mate. Could do worse than get a wee competition going with the guys ranked 3 downwards.

I'm a huge fan of Eggington and have been for some time now, an unhealthy but entertaining style and someone who has surpassed all expectations, including his own. Great original post, Twenty, it's a domestic scene to be proud of at that weight, lots of very decent fighters.

The 154 scene domestically is absolutely brilliant at the minute.

Both Liam Smith are Kell Brook are a few levels ahead of the pack however in that tier below with the likes of Fitzgerald, Fowler, Eggington, Conway, Cheeseman etc there are some absolutely cracking fights that can be made.

Finished watching on YouTube this morning. Wow, what a round. Cheeseman looked ready to go and then caught eggington with a great shot himself.

I think the result was fair, though I scored it a draw. Would love to see a rematch at the o2 when life returns to normal.

That was a quality exchange... it did look like Eggtington had got to him then Cheeseman came flying back at him. Class.

I thought it was the correct decision in all fairness. A close fight but I think Cheesemans work early on whereby his shots were more sharper and crisper plus he had the tighter defence got him the nod in the end.

Would like to see them got at it again in a rematch though, good scrap.
