I didn’t give Sam enough credit before this fight. Fair play to the lad, he’s improved technically although he does get very sloppy and gives it the bravado still. I had it 7-5 Cheeseman but would love to see it again.

Just as an aside, it just shows what a quality fighter Liam Smith is the way he systematically broke Eggington down, and where the likes of Ted Cheeseman, Fitzy and Fowler are in comparison. All 3 of them would have a tough night with Eggy although I’d back them to win.

I thought the egg best the cheese tbh and very nearly stopped him in the last couple rounds! Rematch needed Eddie!

    2 good looking guys.

Cheeseman could pass for 54 years old. He's 24.

I’m really hoping that both Cheeseman And Eggington don’t have to take too many more bashing’s.

As you say, Teds only 24, but with his face first defence he’s really asking for trouble with his health. The same goes for Egg, who only 26 and he’s taking even bigger beatings.

They both have their face rearranged in every fight they are in, it's not good and not healthy at all. Can only be a couple of fights left for both before they end up damaged in later life.

8-4 Cheeseman for me. Not s hard to score as the commentary team were making out at times. Egginton looked like he has improved a wee bit, Cheeseman looked a little tired at parts too. A deserved win, though if I have any serious ambition above Domestic level for him then I'd have hoped for him to separate himself from Egginton a little clearer than he did. I suspect we get Cheeseman-Folwer next. As for Egginton? Not too sure. Him and Conway might be interesting.

    Cheeseman close but clear.

His work in the early part of the fight is what seen him through for me. He hurt Eggington in the 2nd(?) and Eggington done well to stay on his feet and showed how much he must've put into his camp because he weathered the short storm and came back with some good shots of his own as well.

Cheeseman early with his jab and crisper shots + tighter defence saw him pick up a lot of those initial rounds but going into the 2nd half of the fight Eggington had settled in nicely and was doing a lot of good work especially to the body.

The last round was a cracker, both men landing some cracking shots.

Good fight, correct winner..... would love to see them go at it again.

Liam Smith is such an underrated fighter.

We have a quality domestic scene at 154 for at the minute with the likes of Fitz, Fowler, Cheeseman, Conway, Eggington etc all of whom could make for some quality fights and all around the same level. But in comparison, both Smith and Brook are a level or two above.

Smith took Eggington out without getting out of first gear and also holds two wins over Liam Williams who is everyones flavour of the month at the minute + soon to challenge for a world title up at Middleweight.

That’s it, if the boxing doesn’t work out I’m sure Calvin Klein and the likes will be queuing to sign them up for modelling endorsements.

Reminded of a low level gym fight between two journeymen fighters who don’t carry any punch power at all . Hats off to both of them but to say it was anything but a low level tear up would be insane . I would not put either anywhere near a world title shot .

A fight doesn't have to at World level to be entertaining
And that is precisely what it was

It was better than many a fight contested for a World title
