Canelo vs Jack Dempsey Who wins?

    Canelo weighed 175 lbs in his last fight at 5'8. He probably entered the ring in low 180s.

    Dempsey weighed around 190 lbs (same day weigh in) and he was about 6 foot.

    Gibbons fought to survive. Canelo can't.

    Dempsey had the power to ko 220-250 lb men for God sake. It does not matter how crude those big men were, they were big and durable.

    Has Canelo fought anyone with that kind of power? Canelo won't even fight Beterbiev. He was hurt vs GGG who was reluctant to follow through when he had Canelo hurt.

    Dempsey wrecks Canelo.

    Canelo struggled with Golovkin.

    10 pounds may not seem like much but Dempsey put down guys of who outweighed him by 50 pounds.

    Hard matchup for Canelo.

    Who do you think wins?

    I don't think that it would be a mismatch at all, canelo is miles more skilled than Dempsey and faster. Jack could win this being the aggressor but it is not a fact

    So you think Tua destroys Usyk due to size, but don't think Dempsey destroys Canelo, despite the size?

    Based on what? He's not better than Gibbons or Miske, certainly not at HW.

    Gibbons was miles more skilled than Dempsey as well, it didn't matter.

    Dempsey had extreme power for his size. Granted Canelo is one slippery sob but Dempsey could go to the body quite effectively too. I think he slows him down and then its over. At best Canelo looks good for a couple of rounds before Dempsey folds him in half. The only way I can see Canelo win is over a four round distance where Dempsey takes a while to figure him out.

    Damn right...those two gentlemen were the voice of reason on this site!!! "Could Andre The Giant beat Jack Dempsey?".....Could Jimmy Wilde beat Mike Tyson?...."Chris Byrd could beat Rocky Marciano"...David Tua is the best puncher ever!". Garfield & Burt were there in the gyms with Marciano...Robinson...DeMarco....etc. They watched them train...they attended their fights...we used to get great insight on the greats of the past! "Could Canelo beat Jack Dempsey?" Coming up...Dempsey had to fight just to eat & survive...he steam-rolls Canelo!!
    Now Liston...WHO QUIT ON HIS STOOL AS CHAMPION...destroys all challengers put in front of him? How the "safety first boxers" of today totally dominate some of the great warriors of the past? Jesus....enough!!!
