I do think Price would lose some some guys at LHW-CW though but he's not losing to Clenelo. Price would either revert back completely to his amateur style which he never fully shed and just peck away at the much smaller fighter winning all of the rounds or he'd just go for broke looking for the KO and find it whenever he wanted.
I mean when he was steamrolling the domestic scene and full of confidence. On a side note, wonder why my Canelo thread was deleted. It wasn’t even controversial. Happened a few times where I’ve started threads and they vanish without a trace. Won’t bother in future.
Who's gonna do that ? You have great ATGs like Hagler and Hearns in the 80s, and you have guys like Jones and Toney in the 90's. You might favor all these guys over him, but he still has his chances. Then you have guys like McLellan, Benn, Eubanks and Jackson, who might beat him or they might not.
To say he gets beaten decisively is a bit of a stretch. The fights would be competitive and Canelo has great chances.
When I was a kid I heard a guy say that Naz could dance around Tyson and get a decision. That's an absolutely ludicrous statement even if they're a similar weight these days.
Why is it a bit of a stretch? I thought Reggie beat James Toney, and Lara beat Canelo decisively. The fact that Canelo can't beat a poor man's version of Reggie, yet Reggie can beat a better version of Canelo, doesn't bode well for Canelo. And Nunn was even better than Reggie. He just wasn't as tough. Canelo wouldn't have a prayer of beating Mike McCallum either.
It's funny, when people want to disparage Floyd Mayweather, they say Canelo Alvarez was 'green' and just a kid when he fought Mayweather. And when they want to disparage Alvarez today, they say he should've lost decisions to Trout and Lara, which took place months before and after he fought Floyd. So, was Alvarez 'green' seven years ago or not? All I know is the Canelo Alvarez who knocked out Sergei Kovalev IS NOT the same guy who struggled to beat Austin freaking Trout. (LOL) Alvarez is in his prime now. Kovalev was a better light heavyweight than Nunn or Reggie Johnson ever were. I think Canelo would do fine in any junior middleweight-middleweight-super middleweight era. He may not have beaten everyone, but he wasn't getting skunked by any of them, either. Canelo is an all-time great.
Did... did you not see him vs Golovkin, Jacobs and Kovalev? Look at how he moves his upperbody. That is one slick ginger. Well, maybe slick defensive ginger would be more appropriate.
That Golovkin would knock Froch out!! Golovkin, who had never knocked any elite MW out was gonna move up to 168 and k.o the man with the best chin in the game!! As Froch said himself ' too big, too strong'
nah sugar ray Leonard was slick these days we have Fury and lomachenko who are slick but not canelo he moves well but I myself wouldn’t describe him as slick
True. i should have said he is defensively slick, which he definitely is. When he goes full defense, he is very, very hard to hit clean. Even when he was tired against Golovkin and taking some bombs, Golovkin had a very hard time following up. I doubt anyone will 1 punch Canelo either. Since he is a pressure fighter, but his focus is on counterpunching. He won´t just walk into anything big.
