I think he could outbox him just too small for Beterbiev. With that said remember bivol did stand up to Joe smiths attack who punches harder than Beterbiev imo and he also hurt Joe Smith jr and dropped him if I recall correctly.
Checked Boxrec don't see any knockdowns. Can't recall if Bivol hurt him or not. Only way to find out is for the fight to happen. And the time to make it is now. Probably would have happened this year of not for Covid. They were targeting a late summer clash after Meng.
He did hurt Smith jr in that fight I do remember that. Beterbiev would be the favorite and rightfully so over bivol
He didn't necessarily badly hurt Joe, he stunned him slightly in the 12th round and went all out flurrying on him before the final bell.
Bivol made Smith's legs dip from a left hook IIRC but he didn't actually go down Bivol is a 168 pounder fighting at 175 and he's giving away a significant amount of weight to most of his opponents. He might not be a devastating puncher but he can still punch a bit when he wants to and the fact that he hasn't registered an inside the distance win in his last four outings has a lot to do with the size, toughness and durability of the opponents he's faced in those fight. Pascal is crazy tough and has only been stopped x 2 and that was by a prime Krusher who was a monster back then Chilemba is not only slick and very awkward he's also very tough too and has only been stopped once and that was an injury loss to Gvozdyk Smith is very tough too, if you doubt that just go watch him fight for the vast majority of the fight with a badly broken jaw against Sullivan Barrera. IIRC he's only been down once and that was when he turned away and took a knee after he broke his jaw for the first time in a fight early on in his career And Lenin Castillo, like all the aforementioned, was not only significantly heavier than Bivol he fought extremely negatively behind a tight guard and he's tough too. Marcus Browne can bang a bit and he's got fast hands and he couldn't put a dent in him and Browne is a very big LHW too. Pascal has only officially been down twice in his career and one of those KDs was dubious IMO because I think he got caught as he swung himself off balance loading up on a shot as he often does. Chilemba has only been down against Vlasov x 2 and Kovalev IIRC Smith has only been down once and, as said, that was when he took a knee and was obviously in excruciating pain after breaking his jaw. And Bivol is the only fighter to floor Castillo
Artur was able to convince all his opponents that he is "stronger" than them. He will lose when he fails to do that
Since when is this a fact? He has been at LHW since his pro debut. Crazy power tho. He has had plenty of fights which he seemingly could finish, but just wouldn´t try.
No, no, no - you want the man sedated, not detached from all pain and effectively invincible in a PCP craze.
Ward would get mauled and resort to fouling and low blows. Bivol has already sparred Beterbiev and been beaten up.
Yes. Tell him he is weak. Then let him punch you in the face. Maybe the concussion will numb you enough to take him into later rounds and "drown him". Sounds like Gvozdyk's plan.
