2 very close contests in a great rematch battle between 2 elite (and future HOF) fighters, but also generating some controversy and outcries from fans of the losing fighter (JMM, GGG). Which would you say was the better win between the 2 overall?

JMM is a better fighter than GGG, although GGG was the top fighter of the MW division when Canelo dethroned him.
Even though they're both very close fights they should still be considered as great wins since both Pac and Canelo fought their hearts out to edge out the other.

No way JMM is a better fighter than GGG.
Canelo lost both fights vs GGG and the 2nd one is not a win. Official punch stats say GGG won and he landed the more meaningful shots. I had the fight 8-4 or 9-3 to GGG, at best for Canelo 7-5 for GGG.

JMM vs Pac 2 was a much closer fight where either one could have got the nod.

JMM is a better scalp than GGG, but Canelo’s win was clearer than Pacs. I’d say they’re probably about even.

It's not even comparable, Canelo's win is far more meaningful than Pac's.
What is about the same level is Pac beating then undefeated Bradley that just won over JMM KTFO6 Pac and Provod for the lineal title.
For that comparison, I'd give the very slight edge to Pac SD12 Bradley

Neither should be wins, but Marquez is better than both GGG and Canelo. That's the better 'win' here.

Did you happen to look at the "official" power punch stats in Canelo/GGG 2? Not that I put any stock into compubox but if that is your criteria then I feel like that should be a major factor. This isn't amateur boxing where you just tally up punch totals and get your winner

I think they're both too close to be considered as "robberies" though since neither fighters were ever in full control. Both fights were back and forth exchanges and there were some close rounds that could have been scored for either or. I don't think a close win should be taken away from them even if you didn't agree with the results.

I can see where you're coming from, considering Canelo beat a Top 5 P4P fighter at the time. However, legacy and achievement wise, I still think Pac's win over JMM (who is an ATG) should be comparable to Canelo's win over GGG.

Pacquaio lost 8-4. Canelo has a better argument for winning, so Canelo

I still think that legacy wise a close win over JMM is greater than Canelo over GGG (which is also a great win as well).

AGAIN, just because a fight is very close DOESNT mean that it’s a huge robbery. Pac and Canelo managed to beat a great fighter like JMM/GGG in a close battle, therefore it should still be counted as a great win. Much like Leonard beating Hagler, Ali beating Norton, or Kid Gavilan beating Billy Graham.

It also seems like people still don’t want to admit that Pac has a win (2) over JMM.

Marquez had 3 losses when Pacquiao got that Split decision, while GGG was undefeated when Canelo beat him. Taking GGG's O and how Canelo did it by walking him down and beating him up Mexican style was much more impressive.
