She wants the Taylor fight now - Eh Day will be building this up for a Box Office headliner next year.

I give Chan a very good chance in what would be a cracking fight.

Jonas won that. I actually had her winning 7- 3. Gallagher was right in build up alot of what Harper throws hits gloves or falls short. 90% of clean shots landed were from Jonas. Great fight, feel really sorry for Jonas.

Felt sorry for Jonas. I can't really say that it was a robbery because it was so close. But if forced to choose I would have given it to Jonas. Some of those women's fights are hard to score because the action they pack into those two minute rounds is non-stop, and you would have to watch it again in slow motion to see what lands and what doesn't. I agree with other posters that commentators are a bit over the top in their attempt to make us believe that Harper is some sort of Braekhus or Shields level of fighter. She's not. She's good, but she's not THAT. Not yet anyway. Anyway - I want to see a Harper vs Jonas II.

Commentators had a pro-Harper bias imo. They went into the fight expecting to see something and commentated as though it was that what they were seeing. They didn't.

Exactly. After 3 they had Harper 2-1 up, well i must have been watching a different fight, as Jonas started on fire.

Agree with moog. Jonas should have got the nod. Not sure who promotes who think eddie may have both of them...but it does always seem to be the more marketable fighter almost always get the benefit of the doubt.

Jonas was at one time the most marketable but at 36 there cant be all that much left....its pretty much in their interest to keep the 23 year old with the title etc. Cant complain too much cause it was pretty close...still reckon jonas deserved to take the title home tonight.

Jonas may be 36, but she's a young 36. It's not as though she's had 40 or 50 pro fights. She probably has another couple of years left in her. And after tonights performance she will almost certainly get a rematch. But it should be immediate. Jonas is too old to have to wait until Harper has fought whatever mandatories they have lined up for her.

Really enjoyed that main event and Jonas surprised me, I didn't realise she was that good. She was setting up really well.

I think Jonas shaded it but it was fairly close. I think women's rounds should be a little longer though, like 2:15 at least.

Just rewatched the fight and gave up trying to score after 4rds but going by the body language at the final bell even Harper thought she lost.

Yeah that was the big telling thing for me. It’s a shame but it was a close fight.

To be honest I just think Harper was shattered at the end, she's still quite inexperienced with all things considered so might be a reason why she didn't put her hands in the air.

I had a different perception, I thought she was just really disappointed with her performance. Harper looked a little flat, I don't think she was mentally prepared for a tough fight, I really don't.

It could have been Gallagher trying to push Jonas but he said himself after 7 round he had Harper up a round.

It was a very close fight, I can see all the scores given, 6-4 either way or a draw, none of those scores could really be argued with, hard fight to judge.

It was one of those.. did you like the harder cleaner shots of Jonas? or did you like the volume from Harper?

A rematch has to happen and will, so hopefully we will get an answer next time.

The harsh reality is that Viviane Obenhauf is a feather fisted female pudding who stopped Jonas and took Harper 12 rounds - neither of these 2 ladies are great even though the fight last night was good.

I thought Harper won the fight although not strongly and would not argue if it went narrowly to Jonas.

Fight of the year claims by Eh Day really sums his approach to boxing on Sly Sports - that was certainly the worst card of the year.

All the focus is on the spin doctor type commentary by Smith and Mackin, Eh Day's sales pitch pre and post fight, lasers, fireworks etc outside the ring to hide the simple fact and deflect attention away from the turd being served up inside the ring.

No doubt false crowd noise coming for Pudding Whyte v Pedvetkin along with cardboard fans and cardboard title belts.

I scored it 6-4 to Jonas. Wasn't a robbery though, some of the rounds I struggled for score either way. Draws not a bad result at all
