I just rewatched the highlights of the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight on YouTube. I felt Mayweather clearly won, but it was not really an exciting fight. Even as a big Mayweather fan, can't deny he did "run" and "hug" quite a lot.
Then there was the controversies such as the IV, and shoulder injuries etc. Very anticlimatic, for what was supposed to be the fight of the century.
I rate Mayweather very highly, one of the best, possibly the best in his era. But its his extremely defensive style that makes him so unpopular compared to boxers like Tyson, Pacman etc (not to mention his antics outside the ring).

What was your reaction to the fight?

I remember thinking “Man! I wish floyd would have had the courage to fight Manny in his prime on that 2008-2012 tear!”

I remember it was tense. I felt like Floyd clearly won, but Pacquiao was game and dangerous. I also thought he rocked Mayweather in Rd 4 or 5 with a straight left hand.

I also wasn't disappointed in the fight at all - it went somewhat as I expected (as far as I remember). Afterwards I was surprised to find out that people were outraged with the fight and expected something different.

It honestly made me angry at both fighters and the powers that be for not bringing us the fight when fans wanted it. They held out too long and the result was anti climatic, like you said. That being said, at least it happened and we got some closure.

Pbf won by spoiling. Punching gloves with flashy jabs and blocked flashy counters. All the while running and hugging all night long. No shame

again, it's the lack of one governing body which allows fighters who transcend the sport to pick and choose who they fight and when.
and yeah, it's not good enough.

    Floyd won a cagey fight

He picked up the majority of the rounds, but the rounds were close

Not a great fight, but high level defence from both guys

    Was surprised with manny defence

Wish it had more fireworks, but it is what it is

Floyd did what he said he would do

It was like finally hooking up with your highschool crush five years later only to find out she was a hooker with 4 kids.

Cheering during 4th and 6th... "Blow your wad! Blow your wad! He's gonna be gassed! He's done!"

End of fight: "I told ya! I told ya! Almost as tough as Cotto! ALMOST as tough as Cotto!"

Don't like it? Our parties must have transpired differently. The couple casuals thought it was 12-0. That is how it went down.

    ...reaaaaally?

Nothing hipster-cool about it. Watch it. Have an opinion (though I expect the majority on here to tell you to skip it).

That would be like someone saying, "Nah, I'm good on actually WATCHING any of the Frazier/Ali trilogy."

    yeah, really :sisi1
My opinion at the time it was on is that it wasn't worth the money, and/or the effort to be awake at 5am for it. Years too late for me.
And now I can't bring myself to watch anything more as the "highlights", sorry.
No, it's not. Those are completely incomparable. :nonono
