Canelo destroys him. Stronger, more skilled, got a much better chin and hits harder and he is fast too.

Canelo by KO. Norris had all l the skills in the world. He was also prone to making mistakes. He loved to brawl. When he didn't have to. That chin was suspect.

I think Canelo scores a late ko, when behind on the cards.

The speed and movement of Norris will cause him all sorts of problems, but Norris doesn't have the best whiskers and Canelo is quite an accurate counter puncher.

At some point Canelo catches and ends Norris.

Put me down for Canelo by KO. Just a better fighter than Norris ever was. I try to stay away from all the behind the scenes talk. If you think he was helped by the judges a few times, no argument here. I think that gets nullified to an extent when you factor in that he always fought the best and has always held his own. It’s not like he got schooled in any of these tight decisions (not counting Floyd). That alone shows his level, and it’s a level above what Norris was.

Since 2013, I believe that Canelo has one fight at 54 or less, against Liam Smith in 2016. The Canelo that weighed 154 the day before he fought- I'm guessing he was 165 at least by fight time- had some limitations that he has, to some extent, worked on.
A guy that I worked with did the whole camp sparring with Canelo in preparation for the Mayweather fight. He told me, and I have seen video of some of the sparring, that Canelo needs time to counter. No more than 2 punches, then move; Canelo didn't get off until the 3rd or 4th punch.

Norris, at his best at 154, was very fast, could box beautifully, could punch with both hands, and was more durable than given credit for being. Jackson caught him but he did pretty good for a good spell. His legs went pretty early on but he hid it by becoming more stationary and flashing the hand speed and the pop in his punches.
The peak Norris at 54 was a pretty good fighter and a smarter, more polished fighter than Canelo was at that weight. If Norris sticks to the plan he will out point Alvarez. Norris was small at 154- I don't think he put on weight post weigh in- so the size difference could be a problem if he stays to long in exchanges.

I also always thought he was small for 154, do you happen to know his weight when he was actually in the ring?

No. But several times, looking for a good payday, he offered to drop to 147. Most notably to fight Whitaker if I recall.

He wanted to fight Chavez, too.:loel:

He fought Taylor at a 150 catchweight, so I’m not sure how legit his claims were of coming all the way down to Welter.

Do you know his weight in the actual ring, I’ve been very curious about this for a while

I like Alvarez. And with Terry’s Shaky chin he might even do it by KO

Today is not better when it refers to boxing unless we count the fighter who train by the use of steroids. No one can be a Jolly Green Giant, not everybody. I do think that Terry Norris has the style to beat a tainted meat eating fighter like Canelo Alvarez. This fight would resemble the bout between Floyd Mayweather and Alvarez. Terry will school Canelo with his speed and movement. This will make Canelo the aggressor throughout the fight, where he will eat a lot of quick combos, Terry b a unanimous decision.
