Not even remotely shocked at the result, but disappointed in Pacquiao that he didn't try harder and take more risks.

Yeah this. When I saw how it was going towards the end (competitive but Floyd winning) I thought, damn I wish Manny would just let loose with those rapid fire movements and combos from his prime Cotto era, days. It was gripping still just because of what it was, the fight the whole world wanted to watch. But it was a Manny who couldn't quite physically do what he did in his prime. Bursts of it, but not through the whole fight.

I remember thinking why the hell is Manny touching gloves so much and Floyd is easily winning.

That's the one thing I hate about Manny. He touches gloves with a lot of his opponents. Thurman. Rios (one time right after ripping Rios with a killer straight left). It was the weirdest thing. Bradley. Vargas. Mosley was a love fest with the tapping.

I had the same feeling as when the fight was made official. I was hyped for the fight for as long as I can remember, right up to the announcement. Then it hit me that one guy was 36 and the other 38.
Old guys can get into absolute wars and they can be in massive stinkers. My gut said it would likely be a letdown.
For me at least it wasn't as bad as made out to be.
Floyd did get rocked and both showed a lot of skills. High level boxing, which I enjoyed.
But definitely not worth the wait

I thought that it was a masterclass and enjoyed watching Pac get nullified through Floyd's Ring IQ/generalship.

Mayweather cheated imho. He was always wary of pacman. Hardest i,ve ever seen floyd hitting was that pacman fight.

Had my suspicions when he started telling us his training camp was different for the pacman fight. Chopping logs etc. You dont win 45 fights in a row training the exact same way to risk it in the 46th fight with a new training camp totally different from how they,d always done it especially at his age.

And never seemed to do it again for that matter. Always thought it was a cover for juicing. Not surprising that floyd was hitting a lot harder in that fight than he ever did.

Just my opinion on it. He won the fight tho....think his power on the night kept pacman slightly hesitant. Tbf mayweather was great at what he done....just hard to rate him as high as a lot did or still do because essentially for most of his career at the heart of it he was a spoiler. When its all said and done you do pay a price for the style you choose to fight. Brought him massive success but wasnt great to watch. Hence why he pretty much had to sell himself as money mayweather and marketed himself fantastically.

Yet it was pbf who retired almost 5 years ago while pac is still fighting. Great logic there log off excuse maker.

It's not that he couldn't do it because he can still throw those combos and has speed see the thurman fight. It was a combo of pac respecting pbfs countering ability, he caught pac clean in the 1st round with a hard counter, which put something on his mind. And it was that pbf is a master at getting people to fight his fight and disarms guys confuses them and takes them apart.

The most disappointing fight of all-time. Everybody felt ripped off after it. After waiting as long as we did for it, we were expecting a classic. What we got was a dud.

I just spent ten minutes fruitlessly searching for an Emanuel Steward "that went exactly how I expected" gif, only to get blue-balls. I guess meme culture wasn't quite yet in full swing in those days. :nusenuse:
