Deontay Wilder is trying get out of the Fury 3rd fight without losing face

If Wilder's handlers are wise, they'll let him have a warm-up before fighting Fury again, against someone easy to KO.

Fury then could take care of his mandatory Whyte or better still, fight Joshua for all the belts.

I just hope Fury, Wilder and Joshua all fight before the end of this year. It's not good for the sport when top ten heavyweights remain inactive for a full calendar year.

 

Jack Dempsey and his handlers didn't do a bad job in that department, only 6 title defences in a 7 yr reign.

 

This is a stupid thread. Have you forgotten that he came within a whisker of knocking out fury in the first fight.
I am not even a wilder fan and this Tyson fury goat, only has to turn up to beat up anyone in the world, gets on my nerves.

The first fight he was 50%. We all see what happened when he was 100%.

There is no chance of this happening whatsoever, so I don't intend to say anything.

 

You say some smart things on this site...but this is not the case on this occasion. Wilder has knocked out almost everyone he has fought, and he knocked down Fury twice in the first fight, so of course there is a chance of it happening in the next fight. I am not saying it will happen, but it is a possibility.
Fury can fight but he is no Ali.

 

He lost face when he got toyed with by a 50% fit Tyson Fury. Then he lost any semblance of respect when he got beaten to a pulp in the second fight.

Exactly. I think Wilder was in the ring for a total of about 51 Minutes with Fury and Wilder comprehensively lost and was outclassed for 50 Minutes of those.

 

He should have negotiated a warm up fight between the Fury loss and the Fury rematch.

As long as his name is still relelvant and well known he can still get big money fights. If he goes on a losing streak he is exposed and his value plummets.

If I was Wilder I would take step aside money and let Fury fight Whyte. And I would hope that Whyte would win. I wouldn't know (if I was Wilder) that I could beat Whyte either. But I defnitely know that I can't beat Fury. Lots of ifs and buts that have to fall into place, I know. But we know which way they will fall if he fights Fury again.

I’m not comparing myself to anyone, I’m talking about Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. The fact you’re asking me that, going so low as to compare Wilders’ credentials to people on a forum show how under par your boy Wilder is.

 

I doubt Wilder wants to step aside and risk his payday plus he's used to fighting in empty halls so I doubt covid affects his performance.
