Remember when tyson knocked down wilder in the 3rd round in the 2nd fight and lennox said something like “ deontays foot slipped up from behind him “ lolololol. thats a true corporate guy being paid to defend their american star no matter what.
You always knew with srl in the 1980"s the moment a fight started...he was gonna say " both fighters are a little cold a little tight"....and " it wouldn't suprise me if 1 of these guys went down".
Leonard offered more insight in the 80s than he does now, but back then he was just mostly cliche. Now he's allllllll cliche. Roy was really the first fighter to offer genuine insight into a fight. It hadn't been done much before him.
Kenny and Goosen are good. As much as I like Lewis, he's just too boring. I don't ever remember a single moment worth mentioning regarding his commentating. Perhaps the Rahman vs Maskaev rematch?, that's the only one worth remembering. I'd prefer if they replace him with RJJ.
Lennox tells it how it is no frills & silliness If you dont understand then you dont understand boxing
I don't know why people like Roy so much. He has a huge ego. He often would just go against what someone else was saying just to be a contrarian. He also spent quite a bit of time talking about himself and how great he was. Then there's his voice, which is really bad for commentary. He sounds like he's rapping all the time and has a super heavy Floridian southern accent like Winky Wright. It sounds awful, poor enunciation.
I like the shobox crew a lot. Bernstien, just a little bit of paulie, then instead of mauro maybe add joe goosen because he isn't too bad.
