...much as I keep trying in vain to come up with examples of half-a-foot differentials where a taller guy is mauled and/or KTFO by the shorter, the biggest disparities I come up with end up not actually having been that much on paper. ie SSR vs. Yota Sato: This content is protected (4½") ...or Maravilla vs. PTP: This content is protected (just 3")
Same. Definitely not a usual feat... And as such Casimero definitely earned his kudos for that win over Tete.
It's difficult because he was prime and ready for a big fight, but couldn't secure it and ended up over extending himself.
Hard to say. Back then we didn't know Canelo was a high level counter puncher. My gut instinct is Williams had issues with southpaw counter punchers who could time the straight left time and again. Canelo couldn't do that. Hooking with Williams won't work. Williams on points is my pick.
While such physical charateristics are clearly advantageous, they are not at all insurmountable. Look at Loma for example, by such reasoning Linares, Pedraza, and Campbell should have beaten him yet they did not.
I've seen Fundora live 3 times, and I'm not that impressed with his skill set. Clark, who's decent, was very effective when he circled and moved and potshotted Fundora in their draw because Fundora doesn't use his height and length well and likes fighting on the inside and mixing it up. His legs are weak, he walks straight forward, hand speed is very average, he's there to be hit and he's not real heavy handed. Fundora needs to be pressuring and going first to be effective, anyone with good hand speed will chew him up in exchanges. I think he's a KO waiting to happen when he steps up. He's in entertaining fights, and can be fun to watch, I just don't think he's going to be anything more than a b-level fun watch. Which is cool, boxing needs guys like him. Not everyone can be elite. He should be in plenty of entertaining, TV friendly fights.
