Is there any surprise here? Rubbish opponent and rubbish fight but Frampton is a well known fighter, (essentially the biggest name Warren has), with a strong regional following. The fight to compare it to would be Warrington v some total no mark.
I love the way me not posting during fights winds you up so much. Do you ever go to football matches? If so do you sit there and watch the game or sit there posting messages about the game and staring at your phone?
Seen this tweet on my twitter timeline (or something of the ilk). If you didn’t know Conlan’s backstory and just watched him for the first time would you think he’s anything special? I must say that lately I completely agree. He’s flattered to deceive. He doesn’t look worthy of winning a world title and I think even if you put him in with an aged and past his best Frampton there would be absolute levels shown between them.
Frampton will end up hurt if he carries on boxing, he looks like a shadow of his former self. Sure he will rack up some wins at this level and make a few pound coins but long term he will suffer.
wish he’d call it a day. He had a fantastic run and achieved plenty. There’s no way he could recapture that form and after all the bad luck on the comeback he should just quit. Must be impossible to give up.
Really enjoyed the fights on Sky the other night so was optimistic about this card but didn't enjoy any of the fights last night. Williamson didn't win that fight for me, lucky for him he was the home fighter becaue Scarff won that. Sharp was very disappointing considering how slick he can be, did enough to win the fight though. Have to improve dramatically if he was to fight Stevenson like he says. Conlan was rubbish and lucky he didn't get DQ with the amount of low blows he landed. Is he going to stay at S/Bantamweight or go back to Feather? Be interesting to see but I can't see him winning a world title. Frampton/McCann. Didn't watch either of their fights because the earlier fights bored me to death so had a nap before staying up for the UFC.
No surprise the fight drew good numbers. The City-Lyon match must have brought in a very high amount. Interesting that Coppinger hasn't commented on the figures!
Never been sold on him at all. And given the chance I’d sooner watch Jamie fight 100 times out of 99. Glad I swerved that card. Sounds like it was painful
The Williamson v Scarff fight was enjoyable. The Sharp fight got very interesting too as he looked in serious trouble in the last couple of rounds. Conlan was boring and the Frampton fight was a decent watch as he copped a few shots and there looked like there was a vulnerability to him as he was getting caught on the way out. It wasn’t as entertaining as the Sky card but still enjoyable imo.
