Showtime: Anthony David Benavidez vs. Roamer Alexis Angulo & Otto Wallin vs. Travis Kauffman RBR.

I have never heard of this referee Johnny Callas before. Per BoxRec, he has refereed 282 total professional bouts. I don't know what the HECK he was doing in this Benavidez/Angulo fight, especially in that 10th round, which Benavidez should be given 10-8 and in which he was unloading and landing innumerable and various power punches throughout the entire round. Callas didn't even have a word with Angulo's corner at the end of that round! He even seemed surprised to be called over to their corner to stop the fight! Fights like that are how boxers can incur permanent damage. Callas should undergo remedial training before being allowed to referee another fight ever again.

 

Him, Ramirez, and Smith are all CW. People want to call Beterbiev a weight bully but not these guys?

 

The ref sounds a little callous.

 

Just watched Romero v Marinez. Is this a joke?! I am stunned at that. 118-110 Romero?! That judge should be put in prison.

 

I had it 118-110 Marinez BTW I am disgusted at that robbery what a joke this sport can be.

 

Never been as Bad for sure...At least a huge percentage of the People on here call it out when they see it...Sad thing is there will be a small Percentage of so called Boxing Fan's on here that will say it was a Good decision...Morons.!!!

 

It's sad a no name guy like Wallin was able to stop Kauffman quicker and in more one sided fashion than the so called bogeyman Ortiz. Well no, not really sad, just highly revealing of how overrated Ortiz continues to be.

Can't say I'm massively impressed by Wallin though. I mean he's a non stop jab machine, but his headshots look like they pack as much oomph as Hughie Fury's. Nice bodywork though.

 

Not sure "uber skilled" is the word I'd use. Awkward and well conditioned maybe. You could tell in the Fury fight his jab game was top class though, not only in how many he threw, but in how well he controlled range on Fury at times. He's an interesting addition to the division, but someone needs to teach him how to sit down on his punches. His power is extremely lacking at the moment.

 

Now I am one guy who is always calling out those who want to shout "ROBBERY" whenever the fighter they are backing loses a match.

I will however make an exception for this one. Marinez was ROBBED!!!! I don't know how Romero can say with a straight face that he thought he won that match.

 

What a bummer. I sparred Habib Ahmed before. Damn
