Why are referees like Gary Ritter allowed to continue to work in pro boxing? It was obvious he was doing everything he could to help Walker throughout the fight, yet by not calling a KO a KO, he endangered Walker's life. https://www.news.com.au/sport/boxin...r/news-story/cc71f28218557d4a454c6cd6700aac9c Chris Mannix: “Brutal referee call. Walker is basically out cold. Referee says it wasn’t a knockdown." “Eric Walker was brave, took an enormous amount of punishment. But he should have been knocked out in the ninth round and then the referee and his corner let him take an absolute beating over the last three. That’s how guys get hurt." “I can’t get past what I saw in Walker-Madrimov. Boxing was rocked by several in-ring deaths in 2019. A referee let a fight continue after a fighter, Eric Walker, was knocked out. Walker’s corner let it continue. Then he took a brutal beating. We learn nothing. Nothing.” https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/ne...-prospect-israil-madrimov-of-knockout-streak/ This content is protected
Still boggles my mind that instant replay isn´t being used. Some official sitting ringside could have easily called it a KO and been done with it. Instead the ref me a bad call and wasn´t able to fix it.
This was Walker's first scheduled 12 rounder in over 2 years, he's done about 9 since 2014 and 28 since 2002. To me that tells you something. Not fit to be trusted at this level.
This is very strange, there is no way that is a push it was too obvious. Use your eyes and your ears. Very suspicious.
During the whole fight, he was trying to help Walker. Madrimov was fighting two men in there. And he let Walker take a terrible beating in the late rounds, it appeared that he didn't want Madrimov to get the stoppage.
Ask Walker when someone has to spoon feed him oatmeal. It is a disgraceful. The ref is supposed to protect the fighters. He should have waived the fight and had the man immediately checked by a doctor.
Even if the ref genuinely believed Walker was shoved over and didn't think the massive flush left hook that landed with a huge thud is what caused him to go down why give him a five minute break to recover from a shove? You instruct the fighter to get up and wave the action back on and if they can't you wave the fight off. Did he really think Walker was in the distress he was and was unable to haul himself off the canvas because of the effects of the shove and not because the massive left hook had scrambled his brain? lol
Boxing needs PROFESSIONAL officials & Honest State Commissions to let disgusting performances like this to go unpunished. BUT Like Ive said many times before $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Is the root of all evil
Absolutely horrible workby the ref. He needs to be canned. Could have gotten Walker killed. His corner also ****ed up bigtime. They need to be sanctioned as well.
Read that Chris Mannix article and saw the video this morning. Jesus H Christ. What ****ing incompetence. The man never needs to be anywhere near a ring again ever.
