I think that Buterbiev is overrated. I think that Ward can beat Buterbiev by frustrating him, but Ward might have to use his dirty tactics like head butt and low blow against Butherbiev.
Ward isn't roughing up a guy as physically strong or tough with those illegal tactics. There's a reason why he retired right when Beterbiev and Gvozdyk had entered the world title picture. The former especially would be a nightmareish matchup for him. Beterbiev walks through everything Ward throws at him, returns the favor with illegal strong arm tactics if necessary and stops him around rounds 7-8.
Listen , after Ward gets a few rounds of being hit on his arms, body ,shoulders & occasional hip bone for fun , he would be running or holding for dear life! its not all about headshots casual
lol! This is getting out of hand, Beterbiev does noyt punch with Marciano`s power, he`s way overrated.
Take the Canelo approach, age him till hes clearly slowing down, offer him a fight with a crippling dehydration clause and win a controversial decision
Canelo always tires out after 5-6 rounds, Beterbiev would dominate the 2nd half of the fight vs Canelo.
Really... https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-ne...ever-fight-beterbiev-its-a-stupid-risk/130861 This content is protected
Even though we all know what he has become, I still feel like pre-Ward Kovalev could've beaten Beterbiev. I also go back and forth between if Bivol could or not, Bivol may be too small though, and he was really, really good, but to me not really great. Ward, this would be a bad matchup stylistically for him. Beterbiev immediately takes away his biggest strength. Adonis also would've had a chance (albeit very slim one) vs. Beterbiev.
Beterbiev is being seriously overrated here. His best win is Gvodzyk who was being thoroughly outboxed by Stevenson until he gassed. Prime versions of Kovalev, Ward and Stevenson are all favourites over him.
