Whyte is sitting target for Povetkin. You can't beat Povetkin by stiff jabs, Povetkin is too mobile and will counter them and is accurate with punches. Povetkin will knock that british glass out in mid rounds.
Fully agree, Povetkin is far too agile, fast and skilled to fall for anything Whyte has to offer. It wouldn't shock me if Povetkin ended this in 1. I can see it now, Whyte flicks out a sluggish range finding jab, Povetkin with a slight nod of the head, slips it, comes in with a lighting fast looping right hook over it and knocks him unconscious. Povetkin is still too sharp with his counters, and is excellent at seeing openings he can exploit, and Whyte has plenty. And when he can't find one, he's equally adept at forcing his opponents to make one for him. His fist will find Whyte's chin on several occasions and early, maybe even in combination, because his uppercuts and left hooks are just as effective, the only question is, how much of this abuse can The Fat Villain take?
I'm gunna ave to disagree fellas, I've just watched the hunter fight again and for periods of that fight he was getting battered, and he was gassed too, I'm not comfortable with this fight to be honest, the guy is 41 and he's basically coming off a loss (even tho it was a draw*) .. Hearn should be ashamed of himself putting it on if you ask me, hunter should be fighting Whyte really.. this might not end well, here's hoping he comes out of it with no real damage .. hope I'm wrong, in fact considering povs style I'm surprised he's even still going at this age! Mad to think about really!
It really is very possible, especially after watching Dillian last time around. That was bad. Thing is though, Povetkin hasn't beaten a ranked man for five years. That's a LOT of years without beating a legit top ten fighter. A lot of years...he might get a fright himself, because Whyte, at least, has been fighting some of those guys. I don't have a problem with Povetkin being 40, but I do have a problem with him being forty and having failed to beat a top man since he was 35. That's a bad mix. If he's back on the gear i'd make him a favourite Maybe. No way to know though. I'll go for Whyte on the cards. He's at tough man, Whyte.
Hunter is much faster, better footwork and mobility than Whyte. I bet Hunter would outwork Whyte if they fought.
Whyte getting underestimated again... nothings changed since my absence then ay LOOOOL No worries, Whyte can lose. But I believe he will win and continue to make a mockery of the consistent haters on here. Beat parker like I predicted Beat Rivas like I predicted Cleared from PEDs like I predicted Got back in shape following Wach like I predicted *new prediction* Whyte beats Povetkin been right 10/10 so far
hope povetkin wins. this is likely his last hurrah. he's made his money, he's made several good runs at cw/hw and is likely the best heavyweight of this era not to win a real belt. a win over whyte would be good for his legacy.
fully agree if he beats whyte ill be super impressed and it will be very good for his legacy whyte is coming strong and we’ve seen the path of destruction he has left when he is in lesser shape
Maybe 5-10 years ago, not now. He's shot to pieces, despite how much sky say otherwise. IF Whyte gets beat, I don't wanna see or hear hus nonsense ever again.
if whyte wins you should leave town... all you write is hater nonsense lets make that bet cupcake Wheres your cahonas
I liked what I saw of Pov on the pads, still has most of his the speed, power and movement although at near 41 I wonder about stamina and durability. He has not looked too destructive since 2015 when he put away Takam, Perez, Duhaupas and Wach in quick succession. That Povetkin was the guy that scared the **** out of Wilder but we haven't really seen that guy for 5 years. Whyte should win but the pressure is more on him and we don't know how the lack of crowd will play. I reckon it will be a great fight anyway.
Povetkin is still a top heavyweight but he's been through the grinder. At his age to be fighting at this level is impressive. Unfortunately the key point is "at his age" ... because he's a methuselah in boxing terms. I think he's got more skills than Whyte, but biology is what it is. Whyte is bigger, younger, and more importantly, he's taken Povetkin seriously and he looked good on the scales. The beachball version of Whyte, Sasha would drub even now - and to be honest, I was hoping Dillian would come in heavy - but this is not the bloated version. Whyte looks like he's trained hard for this one. It's going to be a hard fight for Povetkin, and while I think he can still win, each fight is going to get harder and harder. Holding thumbs for Sasha.
thats a very good point about lack of crowd i think that can affect whytes performance... i think whyte thrives off the crowd and buzz to make sure he doesnt look like an idiot when he gets hit he answers back
