Well, he did it. Povetkin now has a WBA heavyweight belt, a WBC heavyweight belt, and an Olympic Gold Medal, and he never actually beat the WBA champ, the WBC champ or fought anyone for the gold. Well done. LOL
calm down guys this is a meme thread interesting that povetkin didnt actually look much smaller than Whyte on the night did he?
AP beat Camarelle that year who was way better than the Egyptian guy who pulled out of the final.. Povetkin would have beaten him easily. Camarelle was clearly the best SHW other than Povetkin that year, in fact after Povetkin beat him he would go onto win Olympic gold at the next Olympics and two world amateur championship golds too. That Aly guy never did **** again.. Povetkin was fkin LEGIT man! He defeated Camarelle numerous times in fact during his amateur days.. go look at the Italians resume & achievements if you doubt him! Hater post. But ye no one gives a a **** about the BS alphabet trinket regular titles i'll give you that, but regardless, what really matters is his resume & longevity & things like upsetting the odds etc & he just took a major boost legacy wise tonight.. Povetkin has had a fantastic career both as an amateur and as a professional and probably would've been a legit world champion had he not been unfortunate enough to be fighting in eras that are being dominated by huge men with legit boxing craft like K2, Joshua, Fury etc..
SO I hope the OP learned something here! There was no reason whatsoever to either way someone of the Russian's size-bigger than most HWs until the 1980's-was a "Cruiserweight". Nor any cause at all to be confident that he would get KOed. Instead, Whyte got completely Sparked Out. I would add that when Povetkin lost to "Clinchko", we cannot tell if that was because of his constant illegal grabbing & pulling! Sasha was seemingly winding down a bit, but he is still a World Class HW. And with the division game changing power could happen anytime. Time to atone OP!
