They were both flash knockdowns his punch resistance has clearly deteriorated but none the less if dillian Whyte was what he's been hyped up to be he finishes off a clearly shot povetkin easily

I would maybe walk away if I was Pov after that massive highlight reel win.

You need to admit to yourself that aside from fury and Joshua and maybe a few other young guys that list is nothing but a bunch of mediocre fighters who have beaten other mediocre fighters in the most top heavy division in the sport. A completely shot looking povetkin just completely obliterated what was supposed to be the biggest threat in the division. Whyte, Chisora, Parker, Rivas Ruiz are B level fighters at best.

This is true, claims maximum violence but follows up two knock downs by returning to plodding forward with the jab

If they are mediocre what's that make wilder as they are all levels above him as boxers, technically superior all of them.

Whyte got caught so what, it happens.

AJ and fury are the best two fighters, the rest can scrap it out for 3rd but wilder isn't one of them.

Whyte lost first 3 rounds, so he wasn`t dominating. Get out of here with that bias.
He score a flash KD, and another one, that wasn`t that hard at the 4th.
The fight was completely even for me on the scorecards going in the 5th.
Povetkin finds him with perfectly trained shot. He pretty much done what he was train for.

Wilder deals with mediocre fighters in devastating fashion while they go life and death fighting each other

Gotta have a long reach and good defense to beat Povetkin. Joshua and Wlad were never in that contact zone to be picked off with those short hooks. Whyte needs to get down below 245 if he wants to try and win a decision over that ferocious Povetkin. He doesn't carry the weight too well.

Povetkin landed some hard shots on Joshua and even rocked him. If Povetkin was Joshua age, and Joshua was Povetking age, you know what Povetkin would do to him ?
Prime Povetking would knock Joshua for sure.

As a boxing fan you gotta love a techical fighter that looks as good as pov does in close though, even when their shot. :risas3:

Povetkin is a better fighter than whyte. Plain and simple.
He clearly won the first 3 rounds, but the British fanboys (commentators) were just changing the viewers objectiveness in the case it would go to the scorecards and they were robbing povetkin.

Sidenote: in an interview before the joshua povetkin fight wlad said, you can't give povetkin any space or time at all and never swing or try to infight with him. Only way to beat him is to keep him at space the whole fight.
That's why he hugged him that much, cause he saw the danger povetkin was bringing (at that time the prime version).

Povetkins resume is great and imo one of the greats, he was just unlucky fighting in the klitschko era.

Fury would jab and hug povetkin to death, like wlad

    Yup.

I don't think Povtkin currently has a path to the title so he might as well run up his list of scalps.

It's always hilarious to see how clueless some of you people are. You expect Whyte to go in there completely comfortable and prepared to avoid a KO punch?. He was knocked senseless by Povetkin from a single shot, don't expect him to go in there comfortable against him in a rematch. He will be overly weary, gun shy and will lose the majority of the rounds even if it goes the distance. A rematch could spell doom for him and I doubt it will happen. Winning four rounds means jack****.
