He was exceptionally potent for a very short period of time. His heart clearly was not in it and his skills basically erroded fight by fight after becoming undisputed champ. His combination of size, strength, instincts, power and offensive skillset was special
Yeah, I have no way of knowing if you're faster than Bolt or not but I'd bet heavy money that you are not
Bowe came along at just the right time. He caught Holyfield (30 yrs old) on his, Holyfield's, start downward. He should have ko'd Holyfield. But he didn't. That's the nature of the beast. Mental fortitude and correct balance really matters. So Bowe just didn't, quite, get that.
True he had some size but this means nothing when a "tall" fighter looks poor against his only one decent tall opponent (Golota).
Bowes poor work ethic had taken a huge toll on him by the time he met up with golota. He was heavy and strong and it was to his benefit when his heart was in it
In recent years we have had a lot of big powerful guys who can hit. There are probably more than ten guys who could beat him H2H by this point. Some of the prospects like Hrgovic, Dubois, Makhmudov, Sirenko seem like promising candidates as well given Bowe wouldn't enjoy a size and strength advantage like he generally did in his own era.
Stupid analogy on your part. Bolt is the best ever in his sport, while Schmelling ain't even top 20 in his.
